Mobile Suit Gundam_00 - Awakening of the Trailblazer and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. I'm not a movie person, and I hate going out to public places. I usually end up watching movies at home or at a friends house. These two being the most depressing movies I've seen. Not that they are all very depressing. Just probably the most depressing movies I've seen.
I wouldn't agree with you on The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya as I saw the ending as hopeful of a better future,
after all, Kyon was able to make Yuki understand where he stood in his relationship with her as well as the Literature Club, and to prevent her from disappearing due to her 'extraneous' behavior, and at the end (past the credits, I believe Yuki smiles for a few seconds
while I understand it would be depressing prior to his discovery of a way back, that part did not last too long

The movie: What About Bob?

It may have been a comedy but I found nothing but horror.

Snow Angels [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.231661-2-50-Reviews-Snow-Angels-2007], by far.

But it was still an amazing film.
Haven't seen, but Rockwell is one of my new favorite actors. Going in the netflix queue!

Dancer in the Dark. It takes a lot for a movie/show/game/whatever to make me cry, but that movie did it. Relentlessly sad and hopeless, but I still really like it for some reason.
Here's why!

A.I. Artificial Intelligence had me choked up almost the entire movie. Second would have to be Pan's Labyrinth.
No movie has ever made me cry for realz. Y'know, when big fat tears stream down your face and you've given up trying to pass it off: "there's something in my eye, guys....BOTH OF THEM WAAAAAAA *sobs*"

No movie, that is, except Pan's Labyrinth. It was pretty bad, I thought I had it under control when..."NOOOOO NOT THE PIANO LULLABY!" *weeps anew*

EDIT-OT: Okay, so that's more sad than depressing. I know Hard Candy made me feel empty inside. Like I had just watched such intensity only to have the cruelty end in pointlessness. But on more "Humans Are Bastards and this story gives me no hope" terms, there's the Indian film Water :
which has the "hooker with a heart of gold" drown herself and the child protagonist basically raped at the end D: and seeing Ghandi does NOT make up for that downer.

Grave of the fireflies.

I usually avoid depressing movies, but I don't believe any other movies I watched had the same impact as this little gem from Japan.

Requiem for a Dream, hands down. That movie was just...wow.
I will never understand how one can go down the path of Jared Leto if you have a hot babe as Jennifer Connelly as your GF > . > Great movie either-way.

Definitely The Road if you don't feel insanely depressed after that movie then something is very wrong with you.
