"The Visitor," a movie about the 'war on terror,' as well as the US immigration policy, and how it affects innocent people.

Good Lord, I cried like a child.

The Road with Viggio. Damn, that was a terribly depressing movie.
That was extremely bleak, the cannibalism side of things was pretty disturbing.

Maybe not the obvious choice, but I'll nominate Changeling for some attention. It's not exactly Schindler's list, but it was pretty heart-breaking at times.

Schindler's list

Anyone else who has seen this movie can attest to the reasons I was crying like a newborn child at the end.
Oh god don't remind me. I love Schindler's list

I wanted to throw myself off of a bridge after watching 500 Days of Summer.

Same with after No Strings Attached.

I'm such a hopeless romantic. Chick flicks and RomComs get me every time, no matter how cheesy (looking at you Valentine's Day).
Ninja'd on 500 Days of Summer. Something like that happened to me soon after I saw the movie. Still really good though.

I admit, I was a bit depressed the first time I saw "Titanic"

Dancer in the Dark. It takes a lot for a movie/show/game/whatever to make me cry, but that movie did it. Relentlessly sad and hopeless, but I still really like it for some reason.

I would say UP as it was just a bunch of green-worship in its own right.Seriously, why does only the bad guy ever have a gun in movies like this?
Dude only wanted to prove he wasn't wrong and fix his life.
Even the bias for eco-craze fell in on itself with that fact.
That movie truly made me sad that Pixar would commit such a thing.

Well, I don't know if depressing is exactly the right word for it, but The Prestige was a major mindfuck...

Grave of the Fire Flies, I dare you to watch that movie and not get choked up
Yeeeah, I just read the synopsis for that one... I'm pretty sure I'd die of sadness if I watched it.

I cry over everything these days. Green Mile works every time, the first eleven minutes of Up, Jessie's little story part in Toy Story 2... OOH! Stranger Than Fiction was pretty good. It would have been a bajillion times better, though, if
Will Ferrell's character actually died instead of the director taking the Disney ending and making the writer of the book change the absolute most perfect ending.
Just like if no one actually spoke in Wall-E - would have been soooo much better, as awesome as it is already.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence had me choked up almost the entire movie. Second would have to be Pan's Labyrinth.

Okay I'll trump all of the movies listed so far (because I have seen the majority).

Although Dancer in the Dark comes close, the movie that is even more depressing than that: Breaking the Waves. Its made by Von Trier (who made Dancer in the Dark) and is quite a brilliant film but be warned it includes:

-A worse outcome for the main character than Requiem for a Dream
-More injustice done to innocents than Grave of Fireflys
-Greater sense of despair that Dancer in the Dark

Watch it and enjoy
