I'm going to have to say Bulletstorm. I reserved Homefront as well (I know, I know.) But, I wasn't expecting as much from Homefront as I was from Bulletstorm..

Dead Rising 2.

If only because I had friends who kept promising they were going to get it so we could co-op and stomp zombies together. Then they didn't. It was sad.

Funny how many games I really enjoy in this thread.

OT: FallOut: New Vegas. I'm not usually one to reserve a game, but after spending three hundred hours in FallOut 3, I felt comfortable with New Vegas. Picking it up the day of release, I've put maybe five hours into that game so far. A very, very frustrating period of bugs and crashes which could be completely fixed by now but my interest isn't there to find out. Yet.

Dragon age 2... I once thought Bioware wasn't capable of failure (that sonic game being somewhat arguable, but ok fo the youngsters) then I bought this fancy box of disappointment... how will I ever be able to trust again?
So because Bioware made 1 disappointing game you can never trust them again. I'm hoping you were being sarcastic there.
lol, ofc, I'm strongly looking foward to both ME3 and ToR, Bioware is still my number one favourite game company ^_^

Rift, it was really fun at first, and it has probably the best customizability, but it got boring really quick; it was too much like WoW imho.

Edit:
I think the biggest problem I had with the game was the story. To the best of my knowledge both sides (Guardians and Defiants) want to save their world but the Guardians were chosen by the Gods and the Defiants weren't, so they use magic and machines to try to save the world... Yet both sides hate each other like (pardon the WoW reference) the Horde and Alliance, yet unlike the (another WoW reference, it's all I've got to go on) Horde and Alliance, at least up until Cata, can't put their differences aside when a larger threat is threatening to destroy their world. I just find that silly because they can't put their petty differences aside to stop everyone from being killed and/or zombified.

Brink; It started off good but the broken A.I. ruined the game and caused me to rage big-time and this is the second game published by Bethesda that has looked better than it actually is. Thankfully I was able to take it back and put the money towards Red Faction: Armageddon and Duke Nukem Forever.

Dragon Age 2. My expectations were high. But Bioware kinda fucked up meeting them. Yes, I did play it through twice, so I got my money's worth. Yes, it wasn't a bad game. But I left off playing feeling as if Bioware had just raped me of my cash simply because I loved Dragon Age: Origins.

Homefront, on the other hand, I do not regret pre-ordering. It's been providing my multiplayer fix since the day I got it.

Halo ODST. Sure, it was decent while playing, buy got old fast. Finished it on Legendary in a fortnight of getting it. Only kept it for the Reach beta.

Friggin Brutal Legend.

Played the demo, thought it was a pretty epic game, preorder.

Got the game, started playing, and the game basically said, "Hey, you know all those cool things in the demo? NONE of that represents this game. At all. Enjoy!"

And enjoy I did NOT.

Spore, ohhhhhh so much Spore. Never before was my hype so misplaced as with Spore. It was just a digital Mister Potatoface with incredibly bland and repetive gameplay.

Naughty Bear hands down. That game was terrible.
lolwut?
I LOL'd then ROFL'd and now, finally able to pick myself up off the floor to write this comment, i still can't stop laughing.

Ahhhhhhhh well, here's my input i guess.

I actually haven't preordered that many games before. In fact I can't remember the last game i preordered 0.0
I heard some people actually pre-ordered that Rogue Warrior flop that Bethesda published a couple of years back.... freakin Rogue Warrior?!

Spore.

I waited 3 years for that game, I saw the development of it from 2005 to 2008 and it was by far, for me...

...the greatest disappointment ever!

I still sometimes watch the 35 minute demonstration to remind myself of what it could've been.

Fable 3 Collectors edition, so very let down.

I should know by now to take everything Molyneux says with a gigaton of salt.

The Saboteur so disappointing. The art style was interesting with taken over places being black and white but it got in the way and the voice got annoying every time he yelled "BLOODY ELL" when he feel 1 foot or more.

The only game I have ever pre-ordered was Bioshock 2, which I then canceled because I decided I would rather have my $65 back in my pocket. From what I've heard of it, I made an excellent choice.

Mass Effect 1 ... I'm not kidding :(
Is an explanation too much to ask for?
No not at all.
I played it for like 6 hours, and I didnt really like the game after 6 hours. In my book, thats not very good. I didnt like the combat system. It seemed to me like the game couldnt decide wether to be a fps or an rpg. Also I thought some of the landscapes were pretty boring. I really like that big city thing, I thought that was very pretty, and the voice acting was good too. But I just couldnt get over the combat system, I just thought that was horrible.
