Call of Duty 4 pissed me off when Gaz and Price died (I didn't give a shit about Grigs)
God dammit, I was going to say exactly this.

Hmm, I can't think of any that truly disappointed me, except maybe Haze and Prince of Persia before the Epilogue came out.

Haze because you went through hell and back from being Mantel's ***** to being that old guy's ***** in destorying Mantel's production of Nectar, just to have old guy go "Destroy it? Screw you, I'm keeping it for myself! All those speeches about morals earlier? I was just yanking your dick."

Epilogue explained Prince of Persia's ending
Elika, being the last Ahura who gave a shit, is the only thing stopping Ahriman from escaping. The Prince realized that with her gone, Ahriman is truly free. He mentions something about Ahriman "gloating" over Elika's death. That's why he brought her back. After escaping the tombs, Elika leaves The Prince and goes off to find the rest of the Ahura, who scattered around the world. The Prince, unsurprisingly, just wants to flee from Ahriman. And at the end of the day, The Prince never finds his missing ass.

Regardless of it's truly phenomenal storytelling and gripping gameplay.
I'm sorry but... Bioshock.

I've read numerous articles about the creators speculating their hatred of the final boss fight. The whole ending feels a little rushed, like when a child is really proud of their picture of a helicopter to the extent that they forget to colour in the left bottom corner.

And yes that's from experience.

I don't get what was wrong with the ending of Fable II, I liked the fact that you had that choice to make, and the way it impacted on the world after the end. Although for my evil hero, I picked the 'More gold than you could imagen ending' which was a bit of a kick in the face since everyone hated me until I re-loaded the game and then everyone was in love with me.

For my pure hero I chose the 'Sacrifice' ending since there would be more people to buy from my shops and rent my houses. I just couldn't bring myself to reveive the dog. It was always so fucking annoying. So now I can't get all the silver keys.

The only game I'v been really disappointed with was 'Silent Hill: Homecoming'. Seriously, abducted by aliens? Come on, that was a complete dick-move.

Different endings in the game.

The original Fallout 3 ending made me yell.
Then of course, COD 4, I kill the main villain and then I get taken away on a helicopter with no info. on my teammates, and after the credits... who the hell are these guys?
Wait, are you serious!? did you not pay attention to the characters in that agme at all!? Those "people" are Griggs, Price, Vasquez and Gaz.
Hmm, I think he meant the people in mile high club.

The Longest Journey -- Still love the game to pieces

Halo 3

DMC2

CoD4
I liked Prototype's ending but not for the ending itself. I liked it for the hilarious bit during the credits. In case you haven't heard it:

US president's doing a speech about how awesome NY is for having swung back from both a nuke being set off just a few miles off coast and also for having been the target of the world's first biological terrorism attack.

He then says that the US will make whoever's responsible for the attacks pay and that the "US doesn't start wars, it finishes them".
Hahaha yes I remember that bit :D

Kinda made the ending dissapoitning and funny for me

I was expecting him to sacrifice himself at the end so the virus dies with him

But then in that case I guess we wouldn't be able to continue free roaming.

For me it's gotta be Battlefield: 1943, because the singleplayer ends BEFORE IT CAN EVEN START! RRRRAGE!

The game of life. Get born, do some stuff then die.
Hur-fucking-ray.

Really though I'd say the ending to pokemon games fail. Yes I am the hall of fame champion like I have been 7 other fucking times in the fucking past.

P.S - I love life really.

Halo 2 for me is the single worst ending in the history of gaming. Halo 1 got it right with the badass climactic level and then the "There is still more to do, but we won the day and this part of the story is over" ending

Halo 2 was just like...

Commander: What are you doing on that ship Chief?

Chief: Making sure a bunch of suckers go out and buy Halo 3.

Once again, I will point to KotORII as the winner here. Yeah, NES era games had some pretty piss-poor endings, but that was the 80s. This is now.

I can imagine on the eve of the release of KotORII, at the party for the employees, that someone realizes that, "shit, we forgot to do an ending," so they have to half-drunkenly run back to the office to throw together a bit more dialogue, then call in the appropriate voice actor for one last session.

But then, the whole game was stripped and buggy, so I guess it was to be expected.
