I guess I'll go with The Hills Have Eyes.

Between the rape and burning people and baby stealing...it's pretty intense stuff...

Requiem of a Dream . . . didn't seem to have a point. I think it was about drugs, although I'm pretty sure the only way it would have made any sense would be if you were on drugs while watching it. Seriously a fridge attacked an old lady who happened to be doing speed. It was crazy weird
Seconded

Imprint takes 4 hours to watch it, 60 minutes the actually watch the film, 3 hours to get over what you just saw.

Oh shit that one was so fucked up. The scene where they shove bamboo into her fingernails and gums and hnang her from the ceiling ... then the person in her head ... dear god.

Argento's still better at creating tension and freaking you out though. Didn't he do a Masters of Horror, the one about the movie that makes people crazy?

Deliverance.
This. The movie that changed the world's pereception of banjo music... seriously messes with you in such a way that by the end of the movie you're not sure whether it's a happy ending or not.

Man, the nightmares after that one weren't pretty. I'm not sorry I watched it, but I'll never watch it again.

'TideLand'.

It seemed to be disturbing just for the sake of it. Terrible storyline, annoying characters and just.. Stupid, really. But still disturbing.
Good choice: far from my favorite Gilliam movie but probably the most disturbing. It does make me want a stuffed Jeff Bridges for my living room. He'd really tie the room together.

I found Schindler's List to be most disturbing. Any movie that's based on real horrific events scares and disturbs me more than any horror/thriller. Salvador is another one.
Roger & Me was pretty scary too.

No Country For Old Men.
Through a Scanner Darkly was also pretty disturbing due to sheer difficulty of understanding what was happening. But I think No Country tops my personal list due to the intentional self-negation of the plot at the end of the movie.
I have seen this movie too....yes I concur, it was pretty disturbing, especially that
stupid oxygen tank thing he used to kill everyone with...that plus he had a really
demonic face...

scary movie....

Meh, Wolf Creek, it wasn't even all that bad compared to most of the films listed here, yet that was the final straw in desensitizing me entirely, I don't even know why, just after watching that film, it sort of...Broke me, I stopped caring about violence, disgusting/disturbing or otherwise.

Oh my god yes....this movie creeped me out, and it was made around my hometown.
Yay, more people who have experienced the stupidity! .. Or horror. Either.

A pretty awesome film, but when i first saw it i was a little drunk and there are some pretty weird scenes which border on the horrific (especially when under the influence).

Its a rock opera about a blind, deaf and dumb boy who becomes a champion of pinball. It also contains some scenes about the abuse he suffered to his uncle (some messed up stuff: Nails on toilet seats, glass in porridge, good old fashioned molestation) and various treatments to help him... like having acid pumped into his veins in this weird torture chamber style thing.

Like i said though, awesome film... just make sure you are in full control of your faculties before you approach it.

I watched the Mist with my girlfriend and the ending was horrific. Its not graphic but we both sat there stunned in silence afterwards.

Grim.
Agreed. One of the most underrated horror movies of all time. you should watch it in black & white, even better.

but i'd have to say that Oldboy is the most disturbing and beautifully brilliant.
