Pyramid Head all the way (particularly after a drunken psycology student has ranted to you about what Freud would think of the SH games)

i would love to hear that rant...do you remember it?

Bits of it. It was a few years ago and he wasn't at his most coherant.

The bit that stuck in my mind the most was all the various bits of phalic symbolism connected to PH and how it related to James' sexual and emotional frustration.
He pointed out that there were a few spots in 3 where the combination of blood/flesh on the walls, weird lighting and/or moving/undulating bits of wall gave the impression of being inside a big malformed womb, linking into the unwanted pregancy metaphors of the game. Haven't played enough 3 to know which bits he was talking about.
He didn't have much to say about 1, and 4 had only just came out at the time.
A lot of it was the standard symbolism stuff, but with why Freud would agree, disagree, approve or explode.

lol..well..honestly I haven't played Silent Hill because i'm scared it'll make me unable to sleep for months...I just saw the rape scene because my ex was playing it when i walked into his dorm one day and he wouldn't turn it off when i asked him too (such a sweetie lol)...but from what I've read about the game that all sounds interesting...and i'd LOVE to see Freud explode..in a non-sexual way of course

Yeah, an exploading Freud would be cool. Sounds like it should be a boss in some sorrt of spoof horror game.

SH2 (the one with Pyramid Head) creeped out even me.
4 wasn't so bad apart from the uselessness of the hero. If my room got trapped in a serial killer's nightmares, I'd be much better prepared.

Their hardly disturbing, more like infuriating. Disturbing is when when you shoot the knees off a Regenerator from Resi 4 only to lunge at your face and molest your eyeballs.

i didnt find the regeneraters so hard... (buy the scope ) usually i get the scope or the tmp to deal with them (spray them to death is usefull)

I meant the first time, you didn't know what they would fully do if you did shoot them in the knees.

only thing going trough my mind was : jeez... thats one ugly fellow (then he bit my head off :C i had low health) (but i already got the scope so.. it wasnt so hard after the second time,)

I've seen a few bits of fanart (often in the loosest possible use of the word "art") on deviantArt where girls have drawn manga versions of themselves in place of whatever monster PH was attacking in the rape/dragged off with the implication of rape scenes. Very wierd, sickening stuff. Thankfully I didn't see any creative use of the pyramid, but that might have just been because my mind has blocked it out .
My lot call these girls "Pyramidettes". They're one of the reasons I'm nowhere near as keen to look for fanart as I use to be.
