Sharks, JAWS ruined me when I was a kid, I wouldn't even pee without checking to see if a white shark had somehow made it's way into the toilet first, and baths were out of the question. I only took showers for years. I've gotten over it to some degree, but every time I'm in water over my head I still hear that damn theme.

I'm really not afraid of anything. I think it's because of my sheltered suburban small town raising. I only encountered really scary things later in life when I was less likely to be psychologically impacted by them. I know better than to be scared of the dark, or spiders etc. In my mind it works as like an irrationality. Finding reason to be scared of the dark is like calling the sky green for me. It doesn't make sense so it doesn't scare me.

Cars. I'm a biker so any car is generally a danger to me. I mean, I'm not scared, but I hold them in contempt. The only time I'll accept a car ride is due to injury/inllness, really bad weather or long-distance trips.

Bridges, live in MN and we had one go down last year, and then another was just torn down in my city because it didn't even come close to safety standards.

When driving on a rode alone I have a fear that any car coming from the opposite direction is obviously bound to swerve in front of me and smash my car head on.

I have that pitch-black room with mirrors thing too, not that bloody mary BS, I just had an a little encounter with myself popping up across from, myself that scared me senseless.

I also am terrified of the supernatural. Obsessed and terrified.

Another weird one is that I live in a constant fear of my glasses just exploding sending tons of sharp glass into my eyeballs.

I have a fear that every person I pass on the street will attack me. When I walk around I often pay a lot of attention where people are, where are items I could possibly use as weapons, and where are places I can run and hide.

Even though it might seem as this comes from too much gaming, it actually comes from me being bullied for a over half a decade when I was young. Back then this was a reality.

I fear that i will never meet the woman of my dreams and die alone.
Don't we all buddy, don't we all.

I don't really have any like, super strange fears, nothing like, I am scared of strings at 10pm on Tuesday nights or anything. I am kind of a pussy when it comes to horror movies. If I watch one I can't sleep with the lights off or with any super dark places in my room.

If I would do that, I'd be speaking all the time on the phone. I live in the center of the city with 80´000 people living in it. I just decided that I will look so tough that no one would want to try to attack me. Tattooed arms, piercings and so fotrh... It made me feel better.

And... well.. I... i'm terrified of butterflies.
Nobody ever suspects the butterfly...

I'm afraid of heights, which is inconvenient as I'm a fan of rock climbing. I'll be fine for awhile and then suddenly get an intense bout of vertigo. Happened once on a scissor lift when I was delimbing a tree, almost murdered myself.

Also, large groups acting as one. Churches, concerts, political rallies, etc. Perhaps not so much fear as extreme discomfort.

I'm possibly one of the only people but i enjoy getting needles. But anyway, on to my fear, I am horribly scared of seaweed.

Female fashion shops.
Scare the hell out of me. Makes shopping complicated... But I probably wouldn't shop there anyway, since the cheapest thing is usually about $80 -_-

The only two things I afraid of are getting old while being too feeble to even wipe my own ass and being paralyzed from the neck down. From the waist down I could handle, but neck down would be hell. Are those embarrassing? I don't feel they are, but some might feel that they are.

I've been afraid of the ocean since I was about 13. I was in Mexico at the beach bodysurfing... I felt something big slap my legs, and people started yelling to me. I rode a wave in and people ran over, telling me they could see a shark in the surf right next to me.

Also, I'm afraid of Chihuahuas... seriously. When I was a kid, the old lady that used to babysit me had one, and if I was alone in the room with it, it would snarl and growl and charge at me. I was only five, it used to freak me out. Those creepy little dogs still weird me the fuck out.

There's another version afraid of butterflies! Actually for me it's all insects. I've reigned it in over the last few years but I just plain don't like bugs.

And zombies. I am genuinely scared by zombies. Large groups of mindless acting people (riots) make me freak out a bit too.

Personally, I have a few twitches. Ever since I was a kid, I made yearly trips to the Chiten Itza, and surrounding, pyramids in Mexico. Since that time, I've developed a very healthy fear of heights. Which is weird as hell, because I love stuff like parkour and try to do it at any chance I get.

Also, flying bugs. If it's in or near my face, my first instinct is to duck or pull back, which I almost always do with the twitchiness of an FPS player. So, butterflies, moths, dragonflies, that kinda thing. If it's near my face, I'll likely have a very miniaturized moment of adrenaline-fueled duck-and-panic.

Movement. Stay with me here, I'm somewhat paranoid. For that reason, I don't usually swim in murky lakes, or take the darker pathes or alleys around me. When I do, I'm on high alert, and usually the first thing I see amiss is also an instant button-press for the flight reflex. I'll start running, usually. You can ask my boss, one time he snuck up on me after work (the entrance we use is actually a side entrance, and I walk the 60 or so yards back to my dorm), and he was parked in my general direction. I heard his shoe scuff when he was just a few feet behind me, and immediately broke into a panicked run. By the time he had gotten to his car a few feet from where he startled me, I was already halfway back to my dorm, still in dead-on full sprint. Also, I've never scaled a brick fence that quickly before...

Mostly, it's just sudden things. I jump easy, and especially moreso when I'm on alert for it.

Greatest fear would forced surgery while concious/unanesthetized, amputation being one of the highest-fear options.
Don't ever read "Everything's Eventual" by Stephen King. Guy goes in for an autopsy whilst paralysed.
