I have few of guys in mind, but first place goes to Link, quiet hero rescuing princess from danger, he got my sympathy from first seconds of any Zelda game I played over the years.

Imma have to say the commander in C&C that you play through out the entire series of Red Alert. You get so much live action cut scenes and you really want him to reply, but he never does. That and you share a battlefield with him. All men know that bonds two guys. Yeah, men. Huurah.
