Unreal Tournament 3 Limited Edition. Really looked forward to it, after having years of thrilling UT99 matches. It didn't even come clóse to the adrenaline-pumpyness of UT99.

So actually it's NOT higher than "a number" of MMOs.
I honestly can't see were your comming from about the story seeming "forced upon you" but I guess that is your personal opinion. Not everyone has to like Half-Life 2. May I ask, have you played the earlier Half-Life games? Would explain the story a lot more in depth.Iron Mal said:My main issue with HL's story is that they try too hard to have one (and still end up leaving me confused at the end of it due to poor delivery), in a good FPS the storyline and action should just work together well and be fairly self explanitory (the story shouldn't detract from the enjoyment of the gameplay or delay you unnessercarily) while HL's story feels forced and partially absent (most of the time I only had a vague idea as to what I was supposed to be doing and why I cared). The dialogue is nothing like most cutscenes since at least cut scenes often have the curtousy of being skippble for those of us who don't care of have seen them before.Kstreitenfeld said:Like the other guy who also quoted this, I'm not quite sure why you dislike Half-Life.... Because it has a story? /confused .... Just think of all the "dialogue" as a cut scene.
And seriously TF2 may have lacked in content at first but with the class updates and the large amount of new maps that have been added (both official and fan created) it now has a lot of variety. Not to mention it is one of the most balanced multiplayer games out there, no matter what you happen to think.
Also, I never said "this game or nothing". I was just baffled that you thought Orange Box was a bad deal worthy of the title "Most expensive game that wasn't worth it", when it is seen as a great deal to many.
Also, the 360 version (the one I have) doesn't have any add ons for TF2 as far as I'm aware, and even if it did I still wouldn't take back my statement since, they didn't come with the game (I judge most games purely on what is there when I buy it). About balance, it's balanced in theory (with one player as each class you have a very balanced team) but this balance and harmony falls apart in practice (I already gave you the example of the all engineer team).

I'd say Assassin's Creed and Saints Row 2 a good game and a great game, respectively, but my computer couldn't handle it, dang single core. I wasted $100 total(60$ for AC and 40$ for SR2)
Sick setup man. ^^:; I wish mine looked like that.Snotnarok said:This is my set up, I have HD covered:Epic_Rocker said:What are you talking about? Assassin's Creed was awesome, and the graphics we better on the PS3. And the PS3 ver of assassins creed had poor contrast and had massive framerate issues, my friend had the 360 version and rubbed it in my face.
I'd have to say the Special Edition of CoD: WAW. Extra canteen not worth the money.

It looked great on the PS3, yes, but it had far less contrast and ran at half the framerate of the 360 version, which made it harder to play. Unless they released an update recently that fixed it I wouldn't know, when my friend brought his 360 version over I was pretty unhappy with my version. I don't care what console it's on if it runs poorly it fits the forum topic, "Most expensive game that wasn't worth it"

I see, It just looked better on the PS3 to me ><
I know aye, UT2K4 was way better.Crazzee said:"Where did I leave the moon?"Koski said:Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus.
I'm embarrassed to say I even looked forward to this game. I paid £60 for it and I dearly regret it. It is so bad that's it's only playable without captions and sound, if me and my friend insert dialogue ourselves.
Another one would be Unreal Tournament III. I got it shortly after release, and couldn't have been much more disappointed with it.
I was wondering if anybody would admit to buying that game [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel_Battalion]. The price tag and concept is more than a little turn-off.Eclectic Dreck said:Steel Batallion.
Why do you bother with those crappy "next generation" (are they still calling themselves that?, they were all massively outdated on release...) consoles, you have a '64...The day mine broke was a sad, sad daySnotnarok said:This is my set up, I have HD covered:Epic_Rocker said:What are you talking about?
