oldboy and Requim for a Dream. I'm truly amazed nobody has even mentioned Requiem. I read a review once that said:
"This movie is not for the faint of heart as the last 30 minutes will literly physically hurt to watch. You may think your strong but you do not know sadness until you have seen this movie" I didn't really beleive it but after I watched it...well...Damn.

Does this mean endings that are weird or endings that are truly messed up and anger provoking?

On the first note, Mostly Harmless. It made me sad and, in spite of making a good decision to read it, I ended up having a very bad month anyway.

On the second note, The Cell. Did he survive or not?!?!?!?!

Also, Inception. The top? Will it stop or not?

And lastly, for my childhood, Naruto, which for me ended at the fight between Naruto and Sasuke. That put the entire show plus sequel into perspective for me. Decent action, pretty kool super moves, sweet demonic entity type things, but storyline and dialogue SUCKED!!!!! And yes. I admit I actually enjoyed it for a while.

I'd have to say the end of Ender's Game, yes everyone on The Escapist knows the ending and I knew the ending when I read it last year but it still was quite powerful.
I agree. It couldn't have ended that book of the five better

The Mist. Seriously, if he just waited five minutes everything would have been okay. Also, that person you thought was dead? She's alive and she was right. Hope that wasn't very spoilery.
that was extremely fucked up but also nice because i hate it when people continually survive against all odds over and over again i mean i like happy endings just not every time when the character is put into an impossible situation

OT: the book "going after cacciato" (spoiler alert) they chase this guy from vietnam to paris, and one interpretation of the later chapters is that the main character accidentally splatters his brains against a wall with an M16 then they walk back to vietnam and continue on in the war....

The Ending to A Storm of Swords by George RR Martian.

everyone who accompanys Robb Stark to Edmure's wedding gets fucking killed. Robb himself is killed decapitated and has his Dire wolf, Greywind's head sewed on his body.

So sad.

Something I wrote myself, because I was bored. When I finally sat down and read all the individual pieces in order, I realized that I had shot the shaggy dog. The retarded woman (main character) was beat to death by a thug in an alley way, shortly after the kid (the motive) had his neck broken, making it the most depressing and unfulfilling piece of rubbish I've ever written. I trashed it.

It stopped. If it didn't, fluffy kittens will be strangled. (Also, the top was wobbling a lot, which it never did in dreams before).

Im gonna say it, just because I read it about this time last summer, Lord of the Flies
Just the ending was so fucking mindfucky that I will never be able to understand why. Especially with all the underage murder and destruction of nature

Also, this is EXTREMELY off topic, but has anyone ever noticed a lowercase "i" looks a little like a zombie?

The end of "The Knowing" kind of was weird. I was like "did this movie suddenly end on a note that depicts angels as aliens? Whaaa?"

Spider-Man One More Day. Fucked in the worse possible way. I'm going to give away the ending, but I don't recommend anyone actually read the thing. In fact, I recommend nobody go near it, and that it get forgotten, for irony reasons.

Spider-Man makes a deal with the devil to destroy the history going waaaay back to his marriage to Mary-Jane, all the history was warped and the status quo was reset to way the furk back when he had dating troubles and all that. He made a deal with the devil that fucked over everything the reader had read for the past couple centuries (not sure how long ago they got married), and they just moved on with the series. Didn't even do it in an interesting way, though lord knows they tried...

The whole thing was mind blowing (especially the judge scene) but still...

if I had to pick it would be the ending to metro 2033 (the book)it was a very saddening ending but for some reason I loved it because it wasn't your average happy ending type book, but it was russian so it's a different style but I like trying different things

PS:as by my avatar, I love the game and the book but the book is better
As I came into this thread I was planning on saying Metro 2033's ending, and there you are saying it in the OP. Don't you love those magical moments?

I thought the book's ending was great too; I love a well-done unhappy ending. Same as with The Darkness's ending, I was not expecting what happened to happen but it was still a great ending.

Probably going with A Scanner Darkly. That ending is horrifying(ly brilliant).

However, if you want fucked up for an ENTIRE MOVIE, only one word: Zardoz.

You have not lived until you have seen Zardoz.

I watched End of Evangelion when I was thirteen...

It... changed me... I can't explain it, but man, that is one fucked up end of a show.

Yes, I did understand it in its entirety at the time too.
If you are hugged, you turn to tang. It's as simple as that. Yeah, EoE probably takes the cake. I'd post an image of it, but there are children who still have happy lives here. ...The fools.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot. *Hug*
I'd post the GIF of Rei coming up on the camera (ANYONE who's seen it knows), but I'm pretty sure that's considered an act of terrorism.
