My three initial nominees:

"Jurassic Bark" from Futurama S3 (the one with Fry's dog from the 20th century)
"Casino Night" from The Office (US) S2 (the one where Pam rejects Jim for Roy)
"Kenny Dies" from South Park S5 (the one where... well, Kenny dies)

"My Lunch" from Scrubs

That one didn't make me cry, I just had something in my eye...

I laughed my ass off to that one. I found it really funny how serious they were trying to be when he'd already died 50+ times before and no one cared.

As for my own: Community S1 Introduction to Film (I think) Where Abed makes a film about his life. The final film was so out of left field and so sad and touching it really struck a chord with me.

You beat me to the office one! Actually, the whole series is like that between those two.

I'd have to say Bad News, or Last Words, episodes 13 and 14, Season 6 of How I Met Your Mother. That story ark was really sad.

Asides from that, I'd have to agree with Jurassic Bark, from Futurama.

final episode of blackadder, damn sad final scene especially because you keep on thinking that they'll weasel their way out of it.

Well, aside from Jurassic Bark, which is some of the most cripplingly depressing bit of television ever, I'd have to say The Body, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. No movie, television show, or book has so accurately displayed that horrible feeling of loss following the death of a loved one. Even if you're not a Buffy fan, I encourage you to watch this episode. It's beautiful.

Episode 23 of Trigun....even though the show stoped being a comedy at like episode 6 or 7....
Or almost any episode of Scrubs ever (especially My Long Goodbye)...

I'm glad to see "Jurassic Bark" got mentioned like a million times, but I'd also think "Luck of the Fryrish", also from Futurama, is pretty powerful for people with brothers.

Also, this may not count, since it's the darkest comedy series in history, but I'll nominate the entire third season of Moral Orel.

That was the first episode I ever saw of Scrubs, I saw it while my friend was over (he loves that show) and it is horribly depressing but done incredibly well.

I think "The Sting" was another emotionally driven episode of Futurama. Leela blaming herself for Fry's death, nobody really believing her when she claims to have seen and or heard him, and the end when she eventually loses her mind and turns out comatose with Fry weeping alongside her bed the whole time.

Nothing that made me tear up, but was still quite sad all the same!
