this is search bar approved, what is the most heatfelt video game you have played?

my vote goes towards nier, never have i played a game where i felt that the characters were real people and cared for them so deeply.
I vote for this. That game was incredible. Sure, the combat wasn't as exciting as it could have been and the side-quests were dull, but DAMN it was such a worthwhile experience! And that ending!

far from a heartfelt game, this remains one of maybe TWO games where I actually CARED about the characters.

The Darkness.
I was totally thinking that when i saw this thread

I was nearly going to say Mass Effect 2 aswell, like many others.
But the story, to me anyway, made me feel like I was just visiting friends, giving them a ride in the Normandy to one single boss fight at the end.

I was nowhere near as moved by the story as I was by ME1.

Dragon Age: Origins; whether due to the voice actors perfomances or otherwise; did draw me into the story more. And by the end of my game, I actually started to feel somewhat 'concerned' about what actually happened in Ferelden.

But I think Left 4 Dead 1.

Bill dies FFS.

I'm pretty sure everyone cried when they found that out.

I did.
