A bullet to the brain.

Injection is enducing a sezure, and therefore painful.

gas chambers suffocate you, therefore they are painful.

Electrocution, painful and expensive.

A bullet is cheap, quick, and relatively painless. Not perfect, but close enough. Think about that when you put your favorite pet to sleep.

The guillotine painless? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

How about being alive for 6 something seconds after your head is severed from your body?
But, you wouldn't feel any pain, since your brain would be detached from your body - it's because of the signals that your brain sends to the rest of your body that you feel anything in the first place.
Psychological torture is inhumane as well, probably more so.

personally the most humane way that i would want is death by lightning strike. However i think we should just tie inmates to some form of turbines and work them to death.

Lethal injection, you just fall asleep.

I don't think any type of execution is humane, I am totally against in almost every way.

A shot to the back of the head, its quick, painless, and cheap. No expensive chemical needles or electric charis.

I don't think there is a humane type of execution. I guess the most merciful kind would be quick and painless, though.

I didn't read the whole thread to see if somebody had written this, but anybody who said lethal injection, slap yourself in the face.

I know a man who sat in on a 'lethal' injection, his brother had been killed, and he was allowed to sit and watch the man who killed his brother die. The anesthetic was not administered properly, this happens quite frequently, according to autopsies. The paralyzing agent, however, was. The man could not move, but had unimpaired feeling. When the final shot was delivered to stop his heart, he could feel every second. The man who was watching said he could see the man in the chamber trying to move, but was unable to. Have a nice day.

This man...did his name happen to be Gerrad Butler?

All kidding aside, I'd say high-caliber bullet to the brain stem immediately after the guilty verdict is delivered. Insta-death, and no time to contemplate your fate. That is feasibly the most humane.

It would eff up the legal system something fierce, but we aren't talking about logistics.

That poor poor murderer. :(

I'd say anaesthetic, then high calibre bullet to head (from behind, going through the brain stem) while they're under.

there is no reason to discuss this. if the end result is the same why the hell does it matter? if you were to slowly chop me into pieces i wouldn't care it would be over soon enough, and afterwards you wouldn't be like "omg that was sooooo painful!" you would be dead. the fact is saying if it humane or not is a big joke because does it really matter?

Set up a Vulcan Minigun. From what I read in Black Hawk Down, it basically shreds the body to bits. Headshot means... obliteration.

Lethal injection is only humane for the audience. It's a slow and painful way to die otherwise.

People who do the lethal injection executions don't exactly care too much about the executees. If they don't get the right amount (which would be heavily affected by the body type, weight, and other factors) of, well, sedative to put them to sleep while the poison stops their heart, they'll simply be paralyzed yet fully able to feel the slow death by asphyxiation.

So, fuck lethal injection.

Hanging or bullet to the head are the faster ways, and both would probably be more humane towards the victim. Sure, it'll still hurt, but there's a difference between dying in a slow agony and dying in about a few seconds, from either, well, bullet to the brain or broken neck.

Of course, when I say hanging, I mean the type when people are dropped off so their necks break, not the slow asphyxiation type.

Fuck death penalty either way.

Would you rather die in say a fire burning for five minutes or a rather quick painless death?

Humane execution is an oxymoron. Death is death, pain doesn't matter.
Tell that to the victims of The spanish inquisition,or would you rather be killed by a knife cutting you into pieces or a rather quick painless procedure?
