These are gold, I liked the one about Patrick Stewart too, anyone who buys a game just for the celebrity talent included (*cough* 50 cent *cough*)is a tool.
Most of the ones I've heard are already mentioned, but here's a story none of you will have heard before.
I was doing playthrough of metal gear solid and we got to the part where you put the controller on the floor with psycho mantis. My friends 11 year old cousin had just walked in and she then proceeded to freak out at the 'pocessed' pad, "make it stop.... MAKE IT STOP! Dx" evil I know, but it was funny to see gaming ignorance personified in that one moment I'm almost sorry to admit hehe.

I remember while sitting in the the lobby of a church I used to go to playing on my Game Boy Advance SP, a girl sitting across from me reading a book looked up at me and then said "Funny, I am doing something that helps my brain grow while you are doing something that rots your brain."
Considering she was basically the local ***** of my agegroup at the time, I took her words with a grain of salt. Still a load of bullshit, though.

For my personal story: I mentioned to my mom that Jack Thompson had been disbarred, figuring she'd have heard about him at some point. However, she didn't know who he was and my explanations just confused her and so she stated (before I could finish) that we needed more people like him.
I gave it up, came back later with a more coherent explanation, and got her to repent her blasphemy. That's been about the only time I've been really, really embarrassed about my mother.

After getting my PS3, I sorta surrendered my PS2 to my little sister. Recently my mum bought her MX vs ATV untamed, cause she likes dirt racers. Cool beans I thought.
The box had "With net play" across the top like many of the later PS2 games do. So while talking to my sister about how to use the net play function she came to the following conclusion.
"Well you must have to put it in the computer to play online, come on lets try that."
After I had picked my jaw up off the floor I stopped them and explained that no, that is not in fact how it works.

I hope your talking about the 2006 version and anything that came after that because Sonic 3 and Knuckles is one of my favorite games.aaronmcc said:

My best friends girlfriend tried to argue that because I play video games I don't live in reality, that video games are my reality. She then argued that I was closed minded because I wasn't willing to even try to like the movie Precious. (shudder)
