Hey guys,

I just finished watching the Cowboy Bebop series (long overdue) and it was one of the best animes I watched so far. But the ending cause a little bitter taste in my mouth because in my opinion it was fast and predictable. So even though it was GREAT anime it didn't leave an IMPRESSION on me. Awhile ago I watched an anime (forgot the name) about a pop singer with two guardian angels? I don't know what they were but the series left a big impression on me even though it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I didn't even watch all the episodes from the series and when it was done I was thinking about it for weeks. So I'm asking you if there had been any anime series/movie that got under your skin, took a hold of your soul and borrowed it when the series ended.

REMEMBER: I'm not asking what you think is a good anime in a sense, but one that left it's mark. And don't say Grave of the Fireflies either, watched it and didn't leave anything with me. I think it's because you knew what happened at the end at the beginning of the movie...

Depends on what you mean by being impressionable. Outlaw Star is one of my favourite animes of all time, surely that in itself is being impressionable? Neon Genesis Evangelion is another, there were so many psychological aspects in the series and has left its mark on me (I always feel a little down after watching it).

Elfen Lied made a fair impression on me. Maybe since I had no idea what was going to happen, and the last few moments of it were actually a great moment of morality and humanity. Pretty much the entire anime was like that, and I loved it...

Yeup

OT: NGE, Elfen Lied and the first episode of Kurokami. Animes that say "Hey, look at this quaint little group of characters we have going here. See how nicely they get along? Look at that little girl over there, they look like someone you'd see walking with their parents down the street don't they?" -insert incredibly brutal death scene-

One title that stands out to me is:

Now and then, here and there.

If you want an interesting ending watch Princess 9 (baseball anime)

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. Yeah I know, I'm always bringing it up. But it was the first anime I watched that gave you all the story arcs in a multiple arc setting (I'd seen Fate/stay night, but that only shows the Fate arc).

And of course it was an awesome murder mystery. I had to wait about a year to watch the conclusion, by which time I had a page or two of notes and theories.

Since then I've moved onto its sequel, Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, (which I played, then watched the anime, then read, and since it still isn't finished I've got about ten pages of notes), and from there onto other Visual Novels, starting with Tsukihime and its sequel, Kagetsu Touya.

Now I've got a few more lined up, but I'd like to find a VN that has its "adult content" as an optional extra. Umineko has none at all, while Tsukihime is impossible to win without having sex with at least one of five girls. What about one where romance is an option, but your life doesn't depend on sleeping with someone? Kagetsu Touya managed, although it was arguably more of a bonus disc than a real sequel.

Anyway, it's late and I'm starting to ramble. Bed for me.

Berserk is not only the most badass anime I've ever seen, but it's plot and characters were awesome and memorable as any other show I've seen.

Would be hypocrite of me to say something about that :)

Bought lain twice since the boxset looked absolutely great.
3x3 eyes i have the american boxset and japanese special boxset(blows the american one right out of the water).
Have Macross : DYRL twice because the second release had improved animation(and indeed animation is much much sharper on the second release)
Before i forget i own neon genesis twice since the second release added 5.1 sound.

To add something ontopic again Gilgamesh seen that serie twice and still have no frikking idea what side to cheer for

Rurouni Kenshin has left me with something that will never go away.

The themes it used and they characters it had pulled out many emotions from me and actually helped shape the way i feel about others and my goals.

I was thinking something similar. At first you really don't think Elfen Lied is going to be anything more than gore and nudity, but there are some really powerful messages that come through in the later episodes and its the only anime which had actually made me cringe in horror (because it was effective, not bad!). So yeah, it definetly left a mark on me!

Gundam: Wing
great story with lots of twists and turns and just generally left me in awe at what happened at the ending.
