Ok, with nowadays games more about being too easy for us, I wanna talk about those insanely difficult games. Those masochistic games that aren't broken per say, but just so stupidly difficult that it makes even the most masochistic of gamers tremble in fear at the very mention of it. It can even be a freeware game

For me, the game I consider the above is I Wanna Be The Guy. Just so difficult that it doesn't even have a life counter, it sticks with instead on how much you die. The game's controls are very good, it's just that with so many unmarked traps it makes the original Prince of Persia game look conservative.

Ok now I want your view on what your most difficult game is.

IWBTG for sure.
Far Cry 1 on most of the difficulties, because it was fairly broken. The mercenaries were psychic and could see/shoot though walls.

Battletoads was definately a tricky one, as were pretty much all of the old Megaman series. I also lost count of the amount of reloads I had to do in Baldur's Gate 1. Personal record was something like 15 tries for a single battle. And it wasn't even a bossfight. (Then again, dying was _never_ an option for any party member.)

Or perhaps I just suck.

mine is conan. that games wants you to fail. one of the boss fights is impossible for me even on easy. its a big, muscley guy with a boar's head and can evade any heavy attack you throw at him by slapping oyu to the ground before you can initiate the move and light attacks do nothing to him. he also can trump you at range with his ball and chain which he throws around you, pinning you into a quick-time event which if you dont press the button at least 6 million times in 4 seconds, he slices your head clean off.
mass effect would have been my most difficult game on insanity difficulty but due to the fact that it is impossible (the game mechanics wont allow it to be done properly because of the stats of the enemies and the stats of your character even at level 60) it goes in my "cannot be completed due to the game itself"

I can speedrun the first one these days ^^ *flexes big muscly arms*

My vote for most stupidly difficult game goes to... hmm, I haven't played many toughies in all honesty, so I'm going to flake out and say COD 4 on veteran

I'm going for a new game(mostly because it's the latest game to piss me off badly):
Gothic3

Let me explain:
One of the most dangerous beasts of the game is a fucking boar. Why?Because if it hits you,it knocks you back and hits you again, and again, and again until you die.

The same thing happens with all non humanoid monsters, who aggro you if you even dare to look at them funny from 50 meters away.

In a game,if you're a steel clad warrior more afraid of a fucking wild animal rather than a dragon, something went terribly wrong in the game.

agreed. I was the champion of every orc town and had eliminated the two largest rebel towns, but I still couldn't reliably beat a pack of wolves, even piecemeal.

Silent Hill: Origins. The lack of health potions through out the game caused some inconveniences for me, not to mention apparently brittle solid steel wrenches and impossible quick time events. I made it out of the hospital, only to die immediately on the street.

I took the game back and bout Silent Hill 2, and have been pleased ever since.
