Batcat by Mogwai. It's not heavy in the traditional sense, but it does blow you away.
Another bloody good call - it's got a real menace about it... and the video is really messed up.

I could throw out some stuff like Mono, but they tend to work better live - I've seen them twice and on both occasions found myself thinking that the walls might collapse. Same goes for Sunn O))) but I haven't seen them so I can only judge based on reports from friends.

Dimmu's Puritania always does it for me. I get alot of people who can't even get past the first 15 seconds.

I like the ring mod / amplitude modulation effect the vocalist is using. Compliments the black metal voice pretty well, in my opinion.

Question for you metal heads out there: are Dimmu Borgir accepted as being alright by the rather elitist black metal community, or do they receive similar scorn as Cradle of Filth for being mainstream, sellouts, etc? I know there's kinda a correlation between perceived obscurity and integrity in that music 'scene'.

Also, if anyone is wondering where Rammstein's vocal inspiration comes from:

Laibach - Tanz Mit Laibach (martial industrial) *music video*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zSRcFxZVAA

FYI Laibach started in 84, but this video is from 2003.
since I don't really see myself as a metal elitist I can't really say. I always just listen to music for the way it sounds not because of how popular it is.

I do find alot of people debating over the actual genre label to give Dimmu and it always beats around the black metal/death metal bush.

Happy Camper by Strapping Young Lad.

Since my YouTube is being a cockbite, I couldn't check the OP's link, so if it was Happy Camper then rock on.

EDIT: Oh yes, search for 'Fetus Rape' by Sanitorium. They aren't good, but the music video is fuckin' hilarious.

Whitehouse - Why You Never Became A Dancer

Fuck guitars and structure, guitars and structure aren't heavy, walls of noise and insane shouting is heavy. Acctualy I think Worthless and **** Like You are heavier. As well as the Noizefucker remix of Berzerker by Gabba Front Berlin

The heaviest stuff i have on my media player at the moment is mastodon.

Actually, i have Malefice's latest album, but i haven't had the chance to listen to it. I'm not a big fan of the whole gruff shouty metal. Sometimes it's alright, but music should tell a story.
