Before I start, please note two things: This is any boss battle in any game, it does not have to be a final boss battle, but rather any battle. AND, I "search bar"ed this topic, and found a similar topic a few months ago, but it was regarding just final boss battles. So it was both a few months ago and moderately different. So please, no need to comment about "use search bar" or "check previous threads". I have.

What boss battle in what game was the most intense battle you've ever experienced as a gamer?

For me, it would be the battle against Perfect Chaos in Sonic Adventure. Check it out; it is way cooler than you'd imagine.

Actually, it's really just that cinematic prior to the boss battle. The boss battle is rather easy, it's just the epicness of the whole scene.

The ending sequence in CoD4 was just great, but I wish there were more guys at the very end.

One tiny arena,
One freakin' huge space dragon,
Nowhere to run,
Nowhere to hide,

Ladies and gentlemen I give you...
<spoiler=META RIDLEY><youtube=tejP0L5XbKQ>

Hardest boss I ever beat, Metroid Prime was a cake Walk after Ridley.

The third Colossus in Shadow of the Colossus.

One of my favorite bossbattles of all time.

The final final boss in Prototype.
Running around like a march hare on speed, chucking whatever I can pick up at him, cursing the whole time (was on hardest), and hoping to hell I could beat him before
the nuke goes off.
Also chasing Taggart in the same game: it's nowhere near as hard (it isn't hard at all), but epic as all hell. Especially for what Mercer says:
NOTHING CAN PROTECT YOU FROM ME! NOT MEN! NOT WEAPONS! NOT ARMOR!
and when Taggart tries to slow him down by calling in a bunch of tanks:
LIKE IT'S GONNA MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Awesome.

Every "boss" battle after the Great Jaggi in Monster Hunter Tri ;D *expecting yahtzee fanrage*

Haven't gotten very far in the online mode yet though, so I haven't had the chance to fight stuff worse than the Lagiacrus (Giant sea serpent) and Rathian (female dragon-esque wyvern, the male (Rathalos) is more powerful) yet.

Lao Shan Lung, Monster Hunter freedom, you damage him however you can the whole way through, then at the end on top of the tower, you jump off, wait for him, then the orchestral kicks in, fight fight fight, make it to the draginator, finish him off.

Earth Defense Force 2017 had almost every encounter past the ants and fighters feel like a mini boss.

The final phase of the Bowser battle in New Super Mario Bros Wii is pretty epic and awesome, if you ask me. Although that could have something to do with the fact that the friends I was playing with were flipping out.

Chaos from Dissidia, that boss fight it just so damn awesome that I actually look forward to beating his ass unlike other games where I just wanna get it over and done with. There are some exceptions though, but Chaos is just made of win.

Funny thing is, that is the Japanese version of the game, in the English version he's actually harder than that.

In the first Devil Summoner, you get to fight against a possessed car. In the 1920s.

Just recently, I got through a battle in Devil Summoner 2 that involved a particular "Fiend" class demon that could drop money from the sky for damage, roll giant yen coins along the stage like buzz-saws, and drop an even larger yen coin from the sky that could easily OHKO you and your two summoned demons. I had a demon that could give my revolver unlimited fire-based ammo for about ten seconds. The fiend's weakness was fire. An epic shoot-out was had.

God Hand, fighting against the wrestling gorilla. That is all.

Fighting against Legretta, a recurring boss in Tales of the Abyss. I was happy every time the party got hit by her cutscene attack. Because it was just so damn cool.

Any high-level boss battle in any Nippon Ichi game. It's practically what the series was made for.

I'd hafta agree that the final battle in MGS 4 against liquid ocelot can be pretty intense and epic, but I found that the fight against the End in MGS 3 was very epic, the choices from the MGS series are too many to choose!

Though rather gimmicky in their nature, a lot of the Legend of Zelda bosses from the 3D games stick out.

Bongo-Bongo, Ganan(s,) Stallord....

Also the Shagohod from MGS3.
