Chase sequences are intense as fuck if done correctly...

The bear in Condemned 2

The indestructable necromorph in Dead Space

The Dahaka chases in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Have to agree with all the MoH shouts, weaving through the tank traps on Normandy beach with machine gun fire ricocheting all around you was incredible. Especially on the harder difficulty, was almost a whole game in itself.

The level in COD WAW where you storm the Reichstag was also very intense, in a good way. The rallying speeches and industrial metal fiddle music got my adrenaline pumping...

Also, the opening of Silent Hill 1, when the air raid sirens go off for the first time and the monsters chase you into the alleyway and 'kill' you. Completely batshit crazy.

1. Finally attacking the Senate in Rome: Total War
2. Fighting The Boss in Metal Gear Solid 3.
3. Any fight in Shadow of the Colossus.

I can't decide.
I feel your pain with Rome: Total War.

I'd have to say the Belmont fight in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow takes it for me. It wasn't intense in the sense as you put it with Killzone 2, but rather, it was intense by the sense that the battle passed so smooth and quickly. I was almost immersed in the fight. In the end, I won, courtesy of the Balore soul(aka, the FALCON PUNCH! soul(you'll believe it if you see it)), but I will not soon forget the feeling I had when in that fight.

Jesus how did you get enough popular support and how long did it take?
Hmmm...It was a while back, but I know that I was the Brutii. The Julii had been ruined by Germany and Britain, and the Scipii were doing fuck all at the time. I'd conquered Egypt, Macedon (HATE those guys), Greece, Parthia and basically all of the Eastern countries.

I'm guessing that the people were happy to back someone who was actually getting things done.

Yeah i tried to conquer the north as the julii but my empire kind of ran out of steam all of a sudden and squalor built up insanely quick

Probably my childhood favourite: DOOM. There was just some sort of thrill for a ten year old to gun your way through the endless horders of daemon, knowing that each moment could be your last.

The best intense gaming experiences I can remember where on CoD 4, like when your cargo ship is hit during your first mission and starts to flood and you must escape, and also when that nuclear bomb is set off in your last USMC mission and you're crawling around in a devastated area until you finally breathe your last breath and die.

For the shear amount of adrenaline, Painkiller. I just finished it and have already ordered the expansion from Amazon. For atmosphere, Stalker SoC. Especially the Yantar lab.

then you're dead to me. And I don't talk to corpses.

YES YOU DO
If you have played this game, then I'm talking to you. If you haven't then I'm talking to myself.
