Why? Because it shoots GRENADE ROUNDS, and it's a REAL shotgun. Scared? Should be.

Though video game wise, probably the sawn off from Lost and The Damned. Recreating Terminator with that is awesome.

The Franchi SPAS-12 (the Half-Life shotgun) is indeed pretty cool. Too bad (or maybe good, depends on how you wanna view weapons) it's no longer in production IRL.

The Half-Life 2 shotgun (SPAS-12) is quite good. I also like the one from Red Faction (the first one), which either shoots two shells at once or can actually go full automatic like an assault rifle. I also liked the one from Project Snowblind, which has an alternate fire that spews a huge barrage of sticky bombs! For the most abstract shotgun, I'd have to go with the Suffusion from Tron 2.0. This weapon is an energy shotgun, which can be charged for even more firepower, and can be turned into a melee weapon or a sniper rifle. It's strange, but effective.

The Model 1887. Its cheap but it reminds me of The Terminator 2.

Vincent's Cerebus from FF. Triple barrel with a dogs head at the end of each. Oh and yes. Undead is a brilliant movie.

The Cerberus isn't a shotgun, it's a triple-barreled revolver. He also has two guns called the Hydra, which is a triple barreled sniper, and the Griffon, which is a triple barreled Thompson-esque machine gun. But no shotgun unfortunately, that's Irvine Kinneas from FFVIII's area of expertise.

Best shotgun in a game is hard, the standard shotgun from Doom has a very nice "BOOM! *k-chik* BOOM!" effect, but the SPAS-12 from HL2 brings back warm memories from the first time you recieve it in Ravenholm, it just feels completely right... Also the Gnasher Shotgun from Gears of War is pretty badass.

Any Shotgun. The whole point of shotguns being invented was for a zombie apocalypse, the inventors had the right idea.

Tactical 12 Gauge in Timesplitters 2 was pretty awesome though, my favourite weapon.
