my favorites are isabela and merril, because they set up an interesting contrast in their conversations, and i dislike fenris and anders because one is an emo mage hater and the other is an emo templar hater. bethany was an interesting party member for a while, and carver was a douche most of the time. never play aveline much, she hates my sarcastic hawke. varrics cool, sebastian is helpful and a bit bland outside of the opening to the first quest.

Varric and Aveline are my favorites. Aveline mostly because her sidequests are hilarious. And I can convince her of anything!

I liked how Carver hated me for no reason though. It was all of the sudden, too. I come back from the Deep Roads and suddenly, nothin but hate. I liked it because it was unexpected, and kind of amusing in a, "What the hell?" kind of way.

I have to say Merril and Varric are my favorites, and Aveline and Sebastian are my least favorate, Avaline because she is irritating and Sebastian because he is boring. I keep Anders around cause he is a good healer, but I'm otherwise indifferent to him. the rest sit in the middle somewhere
I'm not even finished with Act 1, so I can't say who I actually care for and who I don't. But I will say that Merrill is one of the most adorable things I've seen in a game. She's like a cute little mouse - a nervous, wide-eyed, destructive, cute little mouse.
I'd have to say Varric and Isabella are probably my favorite characters, I guess I found them easy to get along with as they both seem to play along with your sarcastic choices.
On the other hand I hate Fenris. Stupid emo kid who doesn't listen to reason, he just blindly hates anything to do with magic and constantly bitches about his past.
