Halo brought it out and introduced console fps perfection to the masses, creating the standards by which almost all FPS(and plenty of 3PS) use. People became gamers because of Halo. @ Jamash, you hold a very valid argument in support of GTA.

Final Fantasy is great and all the games (not including 7)have left me with a smile on my face. Especially 1,2 and 3 which they re-released on the PSP. As a franchise it has more variants than Mario. The three tactics game are especially notable and, to a lesser extent, the new tower defense games that the PSN has scheduled.pete240 said:

Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metal Gear Solid, Halo and Final Fantasy are the first series that come to mind.
I think that the Prince of Persia series were the best games ever...hack if you don't believe me play the game yourself...when Yahtzee says that a game is good it means that he is really impressed by it
