Extreme partial nudity and excessive violence?
Wut...

In reference to the original post I had no trouble convincing my parents to buy me any game regardless of contents. I had what I like to call "Good Parents" so they knew exactly what games actually do to the psyche and they were there for me instead of handing me off to a babysitter or a television for 90 hours a week.

But I do understand the notion of having to convince a 'parent' of something like this. Not everyone gets lucky and has parents who are actually rooted in reality.

Well, it depends. The most mature from my dad was probably Fallout 3. From my mom, I think it was Beatles: Rock Band.

Ehh...Battlefield 2142. And I was 15. And they had to 'think' about it. So I never asked them after that, bluffing about being 18 isn't that hard really, when I hade to do it. ID rocks.

I once convinced my mother that I should have Carmageddon once upon a time. The clerk noticed, of course, that she was buying it for me (like 8 or something at the time) and he said he didn't want to sell it to us.

I hated him then, but now I have to say I respect him for it.

Huh...when we were young, we knew off the bat that our parents would never buy us FPSs (goes against principle apparently) so we never bothered asking. We stuck to strategy games (it didn't matter how violent). By the age of 12, I already buying my own games when I wanted them, so my parents were no longer part of the process. I don't think my parents ever bought me a truly violent game before that age.

LOL! My parents and I are still fighting about whether games are worth Time and Money.

When I was 15 I got mom to buy Mortal Kombat. I'm a little too old for most video game controversy; by the time the really violent stuff hit I was old enough to buy it myself.

well there is this crazy lady at the walmart who won't sell any thing m-rated to even a person over the age of 18 if it is obvious they are buying it for a minor

so this leads to some interesting adventures
