Well, I guess Borderlands, because that's the only game that they bought for me that was rated M before I turned 17.

Although, I guess technically it would still be Assassin's Creed II, because even though I was old enough to play it at the time, they still bought it.

i prefered to ask for clothes and then go out and buy my own gmaes with the christmas money.

Last game I had them buy me was Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. A game that's not violent at all 'cept a little at the very end.

My parents got me GTA 2 when I was about 13. Although to be fair neither of us had any idea that the game had any objectionable content.

In the UK they have only started cracking down with BBFC ratings recently, and how I am old enough to fudge my way into buying one.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

It's really the only violent game I had to get my mom to buy for me.

Damn, that was YEARS ago..

I think it was either Max Payne or GTA III. Both came out when I was around 10 or 11 and my parents bought them. Oh wait, go back further. It was either Duke Nukem 64, Goldeneye, or Turok (the first one).

I'm 19 now, but back when the original God of War came out, I needed to get permission from my parents to buy M rated games. Needless to say my mom wasn't pleased when she saw the threesome minigame.
