-The last 2 hours of Mass Effect (effing awesome!)
-Beating Alma in Ninja Gaiden for the first time.
-The little spiel from Gman in Ep.2
-The event at the end of Half Life 2 Ep.2, it made me tear up a bit.
-The first time I went from a Sega Saturn to Onimusha on the PS2, I remember thinking "How can they make it any better!?"
-SC: Chaos Theory...all of it.

-Oh yeah, and "Would You Kindly?"
-Also, the mountain lodge level in Condemned 2 with a certain ursine inhabitant, nearly shit myself.

Left 4 Dead:
No Mercy, Versus. All survivors are at low health, I get tank at the very end. As the chopper is landing, I chuck a piece of concrete at the bunched up survivors, they all collapse, and the infected win! A lot of cursing followed.!
I'm calling shenanigans on that, the tank rock throw does not have AoE damage.

Hmmm, beating the big villian in BG 1. Getting past the first level in IWTBTG.
Got to ask here... IWTBTG?
Been trying to work out what thats an abreviation of for 30 minutes now and its driving me nuts lol
You didn't think of googling? Takes 3 seconds or so.
Unfortunately I'm not using my own P.C. atm and my mates kinda funny about me browsing in case I pick up a virus. Hence most of my online time atm is split between 3 sites that hes O.K. with.

Oh yeah I got to add: Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood - The castle assault mission when you get shell shock from the tank at the end and the soldier drags you over to a blowout building. He starts to say something emotional, then dies with blood dripping out of his mouth. Insane.

Oh yeah, if anyone knows the band Chevelle, the song I Get It was stuck in my head while I was playing the sniper mission on COD 4, so I think of the other whenever I think of either the song or the mission. Oh yeah, the sniper mission on COD 4 was memorable :D Also blowing the guy's arm off on the first try was good too.

Ending Mass Effect with 'Charm' maxed out and finally seeing what happens when a game maker allows dialogue to have an actual effect on gameplay/storyline.

This is gonna be like a countdown..

#5: In KotOR, 2 moments, opening the box.. and finding out my character's real identity.
#4: 2 Final Fantasy moments that had me shed tears inside, When Cecil became a Paladin, and when Celes threw herself off the cliff.
#3: Getting the Master Sword in A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess.
#2: When the baby metroid (all grown up now) that Samus rescued when it thought she was its mother, saves your life when Mother Brain is about to finish you off, draining Mother Brain's energy until she's incapacitated, and feeding it back to Samus, meanwhile Mother Brain gets back up and starts shooting at the metroid, eventually killing it which sends Samus into some bat shit crazy rage with flashing neon colors and a hyper beam that just RUINS MOTHER BRAIN'S SHIT... ah man.. Super Metroid..
#1: When I stepped into the video games section at the store in 1987 to suggest to my mom what I wanted for my birthday when I saw that gold box.. with the cutaway window in the shield on the front to show that the cartridge was gold too! How could this, golden beauty of a game, with a boy with a sword and a shield exploring forests.. not be the greatest game ever? When I got it for my birthday and put it in my NES and hit power and was greeted with HOLY EPIC THEME MUSIC and EPIC STORY OMG OMG!.. I knew I wasn't going to be let down.

I think the whole of the Psycho Mantis fight in MGS1. Say what you like about Kojima's storytelling, but you can't deny that that boss was some feat of imagination.

Awesome, a place to trade war stories. Let me think...

another thread.)[/I] Playing through No Mercy, we're on the finale map. I've got my auto-shotgun and I'm just wailing on everybody. The helicopter swoops in, just as we take down a tank, and I yell for everyone to book it. I'm the last one off the roof, and the others are running and gunning. One person gets jumped by a Hunter; I unload the rest of my ammo into the Hunter to shreds and hold off the horde with my pistols to let the other player up. We continue running. By now, one person is already on the heli, and the other is mid-jump.

All of a sudden, just as we're about to jump onto the heli ourselves (literally right next to it), the player who got jumped is swarmed and knocked down. Seeing this, I turn and run all the way back to the ammo pile, reload my shotty, come back and unload into the horde that has formed. I manage to save the person, get them back to their feet while the two in the heli cover us, and then hold off the horde as the player gets on the heli. All before jumping on myself and flying away.

Left 4 Dead - Playing through Blood Harvest, on the finale map again. Myself, two friends and a bot. We've managed to hold off the horde in the house successfully with little damage taken (due to liberal use of pipebombs), so, when the APC arrives, we feel confident in our ability to make it. We all go scampering downstairs and around the corner, unloading into the horde as we run.

All of a sudden, a tank comes charging out of nowhere and smacks one of my friends. By this time, I've already made it to the APC, but when she yells out for help, I turn around to see what's going on. She's still back by the porch, with the horde between her and the APC, and a tank wailing on her. I swear under my breath and go booking it back across the field. I manage to actually get there to help, and unload my shotty into the tank, killing it. Just as I'm about to pull her back up, though, another tank shows up and smacks me away. Luckily, it was in the direction of the APC, but before I can collect my thoughts, the second tank has already finished off my friend. So I just turned around and ran onto the APC.

Not quite as successful, but still pretty epic.

Call of Duty - I'm talking about the original here, just so everyone's on the same page.

The beginning of the second level of the game, where you're just entering Ste. Mere Eglise, and you're running across the field littered with craters and dead cows. There's a wooden fence on the opposite side of the field, and buildings beyond it. One of your squadmates gets shot down, and another NPC grabs him and starts dragging him to cover. All while an MG42 starts unloading on them.

I replayed that over and over until I made sure that they both got to safety.

Call of Duty: United Offensive - The Noville mission, where you are advancing down the main street towards the mansion in the middle of town. There is a point when a German slams open a window and pops off a Panzerschreck shot at one of your tanks, blowing it up. I reloaded and replayed that part so many times, just trying to take that guy down before he blew up the tank. I even managed to hit him before he could, a few times, but it was scripted that it would happen, so the shot would always go off. I was disappointed, to say the least.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 - The ending. 'nuff said.

System Shock 2 - The big reveal regarding SHODAN and Polito about half-way through.

BioShock - "Would you kindly?" 'nuff said.

BioShock - My proof that hacking the health stations is more than worth the time and effort: In the hallway leading towards Dr. Steiner, I hacked the health station and healed myself. I walk through the door, watch the mini-cutscene-thing, then proceed to fight him. I rush into the room, we trade shots, then I lose track of him. I'm under the stairs when I hear a scream. Rushing back up the stairs, I go out into the hall, only to find Dr. Steiner dead right beside the health station I had hacked. That's right, I killed the first boss by hacking a health station. I was rather impressed with myself, I must say.

Shadow of the Colossus - The entire game.

That's about all the big ones I can think of.

*frothing at heroism*

Haha I'm more or less one of those guys who likes to sadistically watch things unfold, especially meticulously evil designs. So i'd probably thoroughly enjoy a recording of your Bioshock Boss fight.

As for my most memorable gaming moments;

- First few steps i took outside Princess Peaches castle in Mario 64.
- First Fatality I witnessed in Mortal Kombat (I was in year 3 at the time)
- Trying to shoot the Dog in Duck Hunt (Kindergarten i believe)
- The 'infinite combo' in Killer Instinct and constantly failing to pull it off :(
- The MiRV in Scorched Earth
- Blowing up the Cinema Screen in Duke Nukem 3D
- Half-Life 'Power-up'
- Gothic II - everything (including the bugs)

Any battle involving more than ten squads in Dawn of War 1 or 2.

And last but not least, driving batshit crazy away from thousands of Flood at a hundred miles an hour through an exploding Pillar of Autumn and squishing covenant under my wheels, then watching the Halo explode at the very end of Halo.[/quote]

Getting the modified gravity gun near the end of Half-Life 2. God, that thing is cool.

Half-Life 2 Episode 2, when the Vortigaunts appear from the mine tunnel and begin kicking antlion ass up and down the cavern. This was accompanied by one of the most badass pieces of music ever.

I couldn't agree with you more about HL2 E2. Just reading that situation immediately brought me back to how bad-ass that was.

In Left 4 Dead, on the map with the farm, when all my team mates crowded in the closet in the house, while I went to the barn.. And I ended up being the only survivor. I loled.

In Saints Row 2, when Johnny Gat beat the shit out of Kazuo Akuji, and I fell in love.

In Fallout 3, when I first discovered the Experimental MIRV.

Sanitarium, the second level with the mutant kids, and the final cutscene that shows whats been going on this entire time.

Crackdown, throwing a car full of thugs off a bridge.

Mirrors Edge, the level where you have to escape from the office after seeing your sister.

The end of Planescape Torment

Kotor 2, when Kreia confronts the council and stops them from hurting you.

Vrook: "You were deafened."
Kreia: "At last, you could hear."
Kavar: "You were broken."
Kreia: "You were whole."
Zez-Kai: "You were blinded."
Kreia: "And at last... you saw."
? Kreia to the Exile, as the Council speaks of her lost Force-sensitivity[src]

Kreia: "Step away from her."
Vrook: "Wh-?"
Kreia: "Step away! She has brought truth, and you condemn it? The arrogance! You will not harm her. You will not harm her ever again."
? Kreia Force-pushes the Masters away from the Exile[src]

Kavar: "I thought you had died in the Mandalorian Wars?"
Kreia: "Die? No?became stronger, yes."
―Kavar recognizes Kreia[src]

Vrook: "Is this your new Master, exile? If so, then you follow Revan's path. Her teachings will cause you to fall as surely as he did."
Zez-Kai: "We sought to lure the Sith out? and now they have come to us."
Kreia: "As you would pass judgment on her, I have come to pass judgment on you all. Do you wish to feel the teachings born of the Mandalorian Wars? Of all wars, of all tragedies that scream across the galaxy? Let me show you?you, who have forever seen the galaxy through the Force. See it through the eyes of the Exile"
? The others acknowledge her, then all three get Force Drained[src]

"How could you ever hope to know the threat you face, when you have never walked in the dark places of the galaxy?faced war and death on such a scale. If you had traveled far enough, rather than waiting for the echo to reach you, perhaps you would have seen it for what it was. There is a place in the galaxy where the dark side of the Force runs strong. It is something of the Sith, but it was fueled by war. It corrupts all that walks on its surface, drowns them in the power of the dark side?it corrupts all life. And it feeds on death. Revan knew the power of such places? and the power in making them. They can be used to break the will of others? of Jedi, promising them power, and turning them to the dark side. The Mandalorian Wars were a series of massacres that masked another war, a war of conversion? culminating in a final atrocity that no Jedi could walk away from?save one."
―Kreia disparaging the Council before turning to the Exile[src]

"And this is what I sought to understand. How one could turn away from such power, give up the Force? and still live. But I see what happened now. It is because you were afraid."
―Kreia squats down to the Exile, who is lying unconscious on the grass

She is STILL my favorite character.

first time i played tetris... mmm 8-bit falling blocks of coloury goodness...

oh and first time playing rainbow six rogue spear...
and homeworld. and fallout... most specifically my first victory against another person in homeworld using a rather unorthadox trick, of kamakazi-ing most of my force into their mothership and watching it go boom... and yes that includes harvesters(those things pack a mean punch when they ram stuff) hehe :D.
fallout i played for several days straight somewhere around 70 hours. beat it twice... explored the entire map... mmmm good times.

One time while playing Rise of Nations:

I sent elements of my army (1st and 2nd infantry divisions, with cavalry support) to hold a bottleneck long enough for the bulk of my attacking force to arrive (I had attempted an earlier attack, but a flanking attack from the enemy took out my artillery, and I had to pull back and build more cannons), and I didn't want to concede that territory.

So I had my general entrench my troops, and then parked my cavalry (mostly Curiassers and Carabineers) a distance from the rest of my troops.

Basically, I pulled the Enlightenment Age equivalent of 300. And my troops, brave bastards the lot of them, held that bottleneck for what I imagined must've been weeks for them, while the enemy relentlessly threw everything they had at my troops. Superior tactics won that day: I phalanxed my troops, and used the cavalry to give my opponent's troops the run-around while my troops took time to fire.

Mere moments before an attacking wave that would've surely wiped out my infantry (1st division was cut down to a few Musketeers and Fusiliers, and most of the troops in 2nd were severely injured. Cavalry support was down to three Curiassers and three Carabineers each, all of whom would probably go down even in a hit-and-run attack.

Then miracle of miracles, my main army arrived just before the enemy's uber-wave hit. I pushed back the enemy, besieged their capitol and won the game.
