I actually couldn't play Final Fantasy X because everyone was so irritating. I got maybe an hour or two in and just gave up on it. I think Wakka showing up was the dealbreaker.

I think this neatly sums it up. Of the wide and varied cast of both voice acted and non voice acted characters in this long, loong series of games, only Squall failed to hopelessly annoy me. And even he annoyed me a little...stupid love story and catch phrase.

Still, he seemed to be the only final fantasy character who seemed as fed up with the whole thing as everyone playing did.
