I played Everquest for five years...

Camping the halfling illusion mask stands out as particularly crazy, in retrospect. Fifty-three hours spent standing in a hole in the middle of nowhere, killing one trivial enemy every twenty minutes, waiting for the rare drop of an item that did basically nothing.

No regrets though, I was a damn good lookin haffer.

Any game involving ammo and a gun. I have to have a full clip after killing something what happens if I happen to need ALL of those bullets!?!?!

It's at it's worst with Call of Duty online.

In shooters I have to kill EVERY SINGLE ENEMY.

Not a problem you think, what about games where the enemies spawn infinitely? I have expended hundreds of thousands of rounds in Halo 2 and 3 killing Flood in the same room for hours because they just keep coming and I just must... kill them all!

I've been playing a lot of Oblivion lately. I have been collecting many of the books i find in the game, and i've just spent the last hour stacking my collection of books onto the shelves of my house (it became a hell of a lot easier when i discovered a mod for placing books).

What is something obsessive compulsive you have done in a game?
Got EVERY upgrade in ME 2.

I thought it would count in for the third game.

I also like upgrades.

Crackdown. Agility orbs. You know the drill.

Seriously, I was hearing that sound everywhere for at least a week.
The "crack" in crackdown.

OT: Going through portal without killing a single turret. Not actually possible, but that didn't stop me trying and restarting every time one of the beatiful little maestros died.

That or fallout 3. Little bit less ethical, as i got bored and desided to indulge my more sadistic side, in that i murdered some one, severed their arms, legs and head and arranged them properly on a bed. Yeah i know, not pleasant, but its consequence free violence.

An overall thing.
But say I had a +1 Sword, but then found a +3 Sword and equipped it instead. But then found a +2 Sword that looks different.
I'll equip the +2 Sword instead of the +3 one, just to fight with it for a time...

DMC3. Leveled up all the styles... Including trying to level up Doppelganger and Quicksilver.

See all character specific cutscenes in Sengoku Basara: Samurai heroes. And considering it's a story with multiple paths... 3-4 for 16 characters... Took a while.

When I finish an area in a game and am constantly told to move to the next area, I always take my time, sometimes run through the level again, just to look for anything I may have missed (ammo, enemies, easter eggs, map design things). No good reason, I just feel like I am not playing right unter I do.

in oblivion, if a bandit/enemy has a enchanted item i have to have it. in my longest game, I counted the random items i had and i had around 300ish items. i then saved and sold all my random items to see how much i would get. i want from 100 gold to around 90,000,000 gold. holy shit.

oh look, I fired one shot and now have only 149 bullets left... better reload! (that's about the time a guy comes at me and shoots me in the face while I cant fire)
I wish I could develop that kind of obsession.

My problem is, I never REMEMBER to reload. No matter which game I'm playing, it's the same: I'll fire a bunch of rounds at a bad guy as he runs for cover, and I swear - every time, my weapon runs out of ammo the SECOND I get the guy's head in the crosshairs. Every single time.

Then there are the times when I'm sneaking up on a guard who hasn't spotted me yet. I jump out from cover right in front of him, intending to blast him four or five times. And then my weapon goes "PHUP" exactly once, and my character starts calmly reloading it while being turned into swiss cheese by the guard. And four or five other guards I didn't notice.

This is my favourite way of dealing with guards in this kind of game. It's what I always do when there are guards between me and my objective. And it ALWAYS works out EXACTLY like this. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I've played through Fallout 3 like this (twice). I've played through Saints Row 2 like this (three times). I've played through Red Dead Redemption like this. I've played through Mafia II like this, and am currently halfway through its DLC pack "Joe's Adventures" - and I still do this.

I just NEVER learn!

In the Thief games, I close every single door, chest, locker and safe that I open.
Every.
Single.
Time.

Playing Dead Space.. Had to shoot every body I saw on the ground.. Just to be sure. If I just put down a necromorph then fire a well placed shot into the space between its eyes... Just to be doubly sure...

In every RPG I play, I have to check every single chest, room, and whatnot just to see if I can find something useful. Every stone, nook, and cranny will be looked into for stuff.

ACII, I went and got every damn feather, I missed one and went back through every damn city to find it, and that took me several hours. And upgraded my villa until I couldn't, which towards the end was a pain.

Aside from excessive reloading, I have a nasty habit in Bethesda RPGs of finding every dead body {or large chunk of dead body, in the two most recent Fallouts) and stacking them into a nice pile after I clear a room. No need to leave the place looking a mess. Now, if there was a way to wipe up all that blood...

Skills for kills Agent, skills for kills.

OT: In games where I control money, I make it into the closest even number. Fallout's caps etc.

Same thing with the books in Oblivion and Morrowind. Like walking through my mini-library every now and then. Morrowind is a pain to place books even with the mod though.

Also Oblivion: Alchemy. No matter what class I play as I alays make sure to create a custom class where Alchemy is one of my core skills because no matter where I go I compulsively pick flowers an mushrooms...
On the bright side, being an alchemist in Oblivion pretty much means that you'll never, ever, ever go wanting for money.
o_O in all my plays of oblivion, i don't think i've ever so much as made a single potion...

I reload my weapons as soon as I can, and I have to stay at full health, wasting healing items if necessary. It bothers me so much to even be 1 HP below my maximum. Another thing is I have to explore everything as soon as I can, if I can.

I caught every single pokemon available in Red Version (the original Red Version) without trades, and trained at least half of them up to at least level 60 through countless runs through the Elite Four. I eventually realised that getting all my pokemon to level 100 was useless with no one to battle...

I played that file for over 140 hours. It was kind of heart wrenching when I restarted the game.

Grinding on Disgaea 3 to level 9999 so i can face the other dimension where i have to reincarnate several times a 9999 character so it has better chances of surviving.
