I've recently gone back to CoD:WaW and managed to get to level 53. Some of you may remember that this is the level where you unlock the PPSH41, or as I like to call it, the Russian spammer gun. I dubbed it this because of it's high rate of fire, with the Browning and MG42 with double tap come close to it in fire rate, medium damage and high accuracy. With a drum barrel it can hold 70 bullets and has a short relod time.

Did the developers even try to balance this thing? People called the MP40 over powered, but the PPSH41 will usually beat an MP40 user. It has barely any recoil, so you don't even need to pace your shots. I thought WW2 SMG's were just a more accurate shotgun, used for clearing buildings and CQC areas. This gun can damn near kill anyone not using a sniper rifle.

I personally believe the PPSH41 to be one of the most OP weapons in a game. What do you guys/gals think is the most OP weapon in any game?

The most overpowered weapon is any weapon that is used to kill me.

Also, the most underpowered weapon is whatever weapon I happen to be using.

BFG 9000, or the BFG10K.
Don't screw with someone using one of them - you will die.

It was worse in the first Call of Duty. It always had a drum, was available from the start, and most Russian maps were urban. It was the original noob tube of the series. Although, the Garand and MP44 were stupid powerful once you learned their individual quirks. Thankfully, at the time, you could only spawn with faction weapons.

Of Call of Duty specifically, the most overpowered weapon was the M16 in 4. That gun was crazy overpowered. I could pull the most amazing kill streaks. Only a lack of ammunition held that weapon back.

Out of all the games I've played, probably the beads in Okami. You had to earn them and only were able to exploit them in a new game, but they kicked all sorts of ass.

halo 1 pistol easily the most overpowered pistol :pPPP
No wonder they nerfed it in Halo two. Could you imagine someone dual wielding those monsters?
Yeah, it'd be pointless. You only need one. The other would be to destroy the corpse...

It's probably not the most, but I just started playing Borderlands after it went on a ludicrous sale, and I have and SMG that does 55 damage with four bullets per shot, and each shot takes 2 ammo, with 86 ammo per clip. It's basically an automatic shotgun and it rapes everything.

Takes down Spiderant Kings like they're Skag Whelps.

Yeah most of my post was pointing out the PPSH41 has no flaws. Honestly, give it a heat register like a mounted MG to balance it somewhat. And the plastic gun may have had it's stats modified by the American developers.

The pistol in DX: Human Revolution. It has an upgrade that allows it to essentially ignore armor, making more powerful than the assault rifle, shotgun, or even the sniper rifle.

The Soul Ripper in Supreme Commander.

-It can survive getting hit by a Strategic Ballistic Missile.
-It can fire on any target in the game,EXCEPT Tactical Cruise Missiles,Strategic Ballistic Missiles, and a sub-orbital sattelite.
-It FLIES
-As a gunship,it can hold position in flight
-It's a fairly cheap to build Experimental (grossly overpowered weapon)
-It builds fairly quickly
-And finally,I'm fairly certain it has more guns mounted to it than any other unit in the game.

So,let's recap.

It can FUCKING FLY. This means it's incredibly mobile. It's a gunship, which means it can HOVER IN PLACE. While unleashing all sorts oh hell on you. It can survive a DIRECT HIT from a nuke. It can fire on anything that isn't a missile,or IN SPACE. It's easy on the wallet (like so many other Cybran units),and builds quickly. Which means swarms of them very quickly. Finally,it has lots of guns, which equals an insane damage output. The only thing that keeps it from being broken ENTIRELY is that it can only be built once you have a T3 Engineer,at least.

Famas in MW2 was much more overpowered. It was a burst weapon, one burst to kill from most ranges (2 from across the map), was incredibly accurate, and the burst was very fast, so all the bullets in the burst would hit regardless of range so long as the first bullet hit the target, had perfectly accurate hipfire, no recoil, barely ever had to be reloaded, and fired bursts extremely quickly. It was amazing for pretty much any range, and with an ACOG scope was pretty much the best sniper rifle I could ask for. The only reason it didn't get as much recognition for being OP was because the UMP took that spot, but only because everyone who couldn't aim used the UMP.
