And let us not forget Overlord, a mix of action and minion management.
I was thinking about that one. One might say "minion management is not a genre" but the fact is that it's so original and fresh as a concept that makes me want to promote this game to the hybrid category. That's a tough decision though..

The game that comes into my mind is Fur Fighers (by the makers of the pgr series, bizzare creations). Its a hybrid of fps platforming and puzzle solving. You could call it super mario 64 in first person. And the controls are actually great and the whole game is too.

Also: Oddworld: strangers wrath. Its a little of the same thing, but in this game you play both in first and third person, where the ammo you use is alive. In third person you can play it as a action adventure where you beat up people, run really fast and cross long gaps. In first person you use a crossbow and outsmart your enemies with your live ammo. Also, the aspect that you get more money for capturing people in a can instead of killing them is awsum.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. Best FPS/Platformer ever, with a neat twist halfway through.
Exactly.
Both of these games play crazy well, and are unlike anything Ive ever played.

Well, seeing as how minion management was done before in Pikmin, I would sa it is a hybrid.

Another shiny example, the Thief games. I like the term "First Person Sneaker". What do you think?

Mirror's Edge is turning out to be a great mix of FPS and Combat, along with the first person exploration type of element.

This is like my millionth post talking about this game, haha.

Also, the Dynasty Warriors series. Definetely not as good as other games mentioned above and they are mainly about hacking, slashing and button mashing, but on the other hand, they feature some subtle strategy and rpg elements.
