Pleasing: The Dead Rising Series. Dead Rising, Dead Rising Case Zero (A cheap download worth every imaginary penny), and Dead Rising 2 are worth playing over and over again. You have an entire area to explore that changes with each passing day. Sure, it's not perfect. The first game was riddled with bad AI, clunky time mechanic that could cost you your progress, and a limited feeling of liniarity. But it is also good. The restrictions give you a challenge that you can either ignore or excell in. The second game is even better, with fixed AI (Not perfect my any means, but better), better time mechanics, and enough in it to keep you playing again and again.
Also, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 were okay. Not perfect, but I play them pretty often.
DIspleasing: Ung... Let's see. How about Dead Island? Yeah, the only game I have EVER spent $60 on in my life, and it was a glitch fest. The game glitches to no end, the zombies have cheap moves that can kill you in one hit even with full health, the controls feel clunky, The story is tacked on worse than Leather-Face's mask, and did I mention it's glitched out the ears? Yeah, it's that bad. Yeah, I still play it a great deal. I spent sixty dollars on it for the special edition and I ain't turning back now. The story is told in disjointed cutscenes that show off the graphics which are not pretty on the character models. Seriously, in game, the characters sitting around base will NOT look you in the eye,and when they do they look like they have painted on doll eyes. The missions are varied and simple to understand, for the most part, and the only penalty for dying is loss of money which can be used to repair your weapons. The game taked ideas from all the latest zombie games like Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead, and also takes Oblivion's style of mission progression. But it feels so rough, like this is a beta version of the game, and it took SIX years for them to make it. Yeah, in 05, I saw screenshots of zombie fighting, damage, and weapons. Six whole years, and what we got was unfinished crap. I'm going to play the hell out of it because I spent the money for it, but it was a dissapointment to be sure.
