i swear to you i'm not making this up! afew years ago my family and I were in Greece visiting relatives, i bought a plastic canister of 6mm plastic BB's and this was the warnign on it (i'm looking at it right now)

1) Under the parent serve as gaurdian usage.
2) This product forbids the swallow (my personal fav)
3) The in keeping with 7 years old and above child plays.

I swear i could not even make ths up!

This was in a commercial for a medication: "Warning, do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it."

This isn't a warning label, but it was in a Weapon manual in WWII. It said: "After pulling the pin, Mr. Grenade is no longer your friend."

We should stop putting warning labels on things that are redicliously obvious, with the hope that anyone stupid enough to get themselves killed or badly injred by it will never had or have children; thus clensing the gene pool (hopefully) of anyone like them ever being born again...

Problem is, there's a method to this madness. Obviously, people who make ludicrous warning labels have been sued by idiots before.

Thats the real tragedy - things like "may contain nuts" on a packet of peanuts because foods standards HAVE to display the information...if you have a nut allergy WHY would you buy peanuts!

Also, while not stupid (very amusing in fact) this is my contribution:

Most labels that seem pointless aren't there because the manufacturers seriously believe that someone would be stupid enough to actually injure themselves in that way. They do it because they believe that someone might exploit the common sense the manufacturers assume people have by suing them after they are hurt by doing the stupid things they now warn us about.

McDonalds learnt that you can't just expect people to accept that '**** happens' with the coffee case/s. You have to state the obvious because the American legal system accepts tort cases like a man in a desert and a water bottle.

I'm an Australian but I won't challenge the win of the UK legal system over the US legal system. Australia's alot better with the trivial stuff than America is too though so I'm afraid your win doesn't quite extend down to us.

Funny this, on a packet of peanut, the warning thats says "May contain nuts" is perfectly valid because peanuts arn't actually nuts.
