Most ridiculously adictive games you've ever played... especially stupid ones!

Torchlight. I've spent probably 15 hours on it in the last 3 days alone, and since I work full time that's a big deal.

WoW. I paid way too much money and heaven knows how much time on that stupid skinner machine, until I realized that the "fun" of following other people's instructions to the letter in order to fight over raid loot was over rated.

In two weeks I just know that Diablo 3 is going to be added to this list.

League of legends has been eating my life since before it was released. They give me a game with reasonably deep mechanics, teamplay and a little number that tells me how much I'm improving... It's too much must... make... little number bigger in tiny increments gaaaahh!

Civilization 5 looks good: any one know if I can save the game on the fly? What can anyone tell me about saving the game? In a life like mine, I never know if I'm going to have much time at a whack. Could be 2 hours. Could be 5 minutes (which I use as well as possible.).

Just Cause 2, i never finished the storyline, but i continue to return just to mess around on Panau.

And it's still my Spider-Man 2 of this console generation, endless joy.

Mount & Blade: Warband by miles. Pre-Warband, Mount & Blade took up a stupid amount of my time (over 20 hours, which is a hell of an achievement considering I usually play for 10 hours per game on average). Warband then came along and stole my sleep while it was at it. During summer holidays, it was pretty common I'd start playing Mount & Blade: Warband at some point between 11pm and 1am and stop as I notice the sun rise. It was stupidly addictive and had the large problem of "just a little more". "Let me just get to town. Let me just get some equipment. Let me just make a bit of money and get off". I'd quickly forget that I was meant to be off long ago as I'm going through these motions. Not to mention, the mods you could install. I played a bit of 1886, a Western mod.

Most recently it has been Ecoo the Dolphin. I won't stop until I beat it. Other than that, EVE Online until I quit not too long ago and SC2 took its place.
Is that game related in anyway to Eco the dolphin on Sega? Might have been Super Nintendo actually...
Oh, yeah. Was a typo. It is Ecco the Dolphin, the Sega game. Found it on steam and couldn't resist.

Diablo 2 had me hooked pretty bad, worst part it was multiple times. First I would quit because I got sick of it, then a bunch of my friends want to play again and then I am hooked again, eventually quits, and then many years later another group of friends wanted to play again since a lot of stuff like massive updates to a lot of the old items, godly runewords, torches and chaos tristram was made since then and people want to try it so there I was again. And many months later after the summer ladder ended everyone including me quit again.

And now D3 is coming out in 2 weeks, I think I'm screwed. :p

That is one I may buy on launch. I'm noticing a lot of the best of these adictive games do not lose their value like many others, so, I don't think I'll feel like a dope for buying at launch.

It would be nice to be there at the beginning to be able to do some character building right away.
