Most tedious & boring MMO you ever tried?

Ever tried an MMO that you'd never really heard of, never read a review about? You played it anywhere from a few hours to a week & left with a sour taste in your math? With bland graphics, repetitive quests, & (if you're social) absolutely no need to group? Or maybe it was a dime-a-dozen MMO that was okey but offered absolutely nothing new & seemed to be lacking in some basics?

For me, it was Holic. If I recall correctly, you spend your first 10-40 levels in a flat field of solid green. The only decorations are a small town, a few trees, a hill, a pond on the other side of the map, & a giant rabbit. There are a limited number of things to kill, & the quests are few & far appart, so they let you repeat some of them endlessly for a pittance amount of XP. There's also a shallow amount of armor & weapon upgrades, unless you're willing to pay real-world money for better. Another thing I recall is the lack of places to go to. (A grand total of about 11 locations in the whole game, with little variation in appearance with 3 of them).

Most Free to play aka pay to win games are like that. Fiesta, Scions of Fate, SEAL, Shaiya, 12sky2 and so on.

One mmo I've stuck with for a while and still currently playing is Grand Fantasia. Pretty typical but still enjoyable.

I wasn't a big fan of Flyff, dunno why, just didn't find it fun.

PS: While we're on the subject of MMOs, would anybody fancy doing the 'Recruit-A-Friend' scheme with me on WoW? Send me a private message if your up for it. I'm quite interested in the game.

Anything not WoW... And WoW, when its not in the 10-20, and 58-70 level bracket. I would say outland was the perfect blend- not too fast, and not too slow.... and the ability to fly to get around quicker and all that made if fun...... then they came up with northrend, and made one quest= what one mob used to.

Edit: For WoW, I refer to the tedious part. Being a longtime player of the blizzard games, the overarching story is somewhat interesting.

That is your opinion. Pre-BC Wow wasn't tedious, and Warhammer online and FFXI are certainly not boring.

Fallen Earth is the most depressing mmo I have played. When I played it was full of bugs to the point where completing a quest was pure luck.

Well yeah, it's an opinion!

I've played those other games you mentioned, and as for pre-bc Wow, that was mostly before battlegrounds came out and began the process of ruining outdoors PvP.

The only thing that has ever made MMOs interesting for me...-_-

Maple Story. Absolute shit. Takes fucking forever to level and if you do not follow a exact set route your character is absolutely useless. I played a warrior, put too many points into str and not enough into dex and next thing I knew I could not land a single fucking hit on anything.
Shit game.
I agree with that and Runescape. Horrible games.
Should be wiped out from the face of the earth.
I wouldn't feel sorry if Atkinson would turn his eye on those two.

I'd hate to say this, but Fallen Earth. I actually really liked the concept, the prospect, but when I tried the beta, it seemed so empty and dry to me, and the combat was as sluggish as the movement, with the quest and crafting system quite uninspired.

Wurm Online is incredibly tedious. The premise is pretty cool if you're addicted to crafting systems (like me): you can basically build anything from base resources and make changes to the persistent world (wanna dig a canal across the world, or build a mountain? Go ahead!). The only problem is, it takes about as long as IRL, and you have to keep your avatar fed while doing it in order to work effectively.

Only MMOs I played are a 30 trial of WoW, Lineage in a shitty private server maple story and Dungeon runners. In all 4 I've never reached a level higher than 20 ^^

For a bigger budget game, I think it was RF Online. Wow, dull as fuck. Some of the free ones can be fun as long as you play them like you play Tetris or something.

"Ever tried an MMO that you'd never really heard of, never read a review about? You played it anywhere from a few hours to a week & left with a sour taste in your MATH?"

All things everywhere leave sour tastes in my Math. In answer to your question, Entropy Online. Terrible.
