seeing as the 4ok universe has been mentioned 20 times over (though with good reason) i'm gonna go with, the Universal Century

Minecraft. Every single night - out come the zombies and spiders and such. And they come for you, always. Your days are spent in a feverish attempt to build a more secure fortress, in the hopes that you can finally get a good nights sleep.
Easily Mother 3 or Earthbound. Religious cults with a fetish for purple paint, man-eating fire-hydrants, robotic Dinosaurs that aren't extinct, Horse-Spiders, a time-travelling, unaged little brat that has created a utopia of crime and corruption, and of course, Giygas, the embodiment of all evil that has no self-control and will spiral into a terrifying, sinful rape of every human being, and the only ones who can stop him are 10-year old kids. If you were in that fictional world, suicide would be a pleasant death.
Animal Crossing is also immensely terrifying. How you can't leave and are forced to pay off a rent on a house you never really wanted under a dictatorial racoon.

The world of "Now and then, here and there!", and especially Hellywood, a military base of some sort, and especially if you are underaged.
The sun is short of nova, water is scarce as all hell, your crazed dictator throws childsoldiers he kidnapped from all over the world at his enemies because "they will hesitate to shoot kids!", and he has a special room with some fat ************ where little girls get thrown into and emerge catatonic because Hellywood needs more soldiers someway!
Oh, and the second in command is a ***** who will torture you for no good reason, even if you tell her the truth, she won´t buy it until it is what she wants, and age is no constraint.
Then, beaten to a pulp, you get suspended from a pole about 500m above ground with no supplies, no way to move, simply because, in the near-nova sun...because "It will either break your spirit, or you!"
And this is just the stuff I got a glimpse off, I just saw 6 or so episodes.
Serriously, you won´t be happy in this world.

Either the Amnesia universe, Resident Evil 5, or Fallout 3/New Vegas universes.
