The fucking blade on arm enemy guy from Amnesia The Dark Descent. That guy scared the living shite out of me. That whole game was pretty terrifying but being chased by that guy was probably the scariest gaming experience I have ever had.

It's a tie between any creature from the STALKER game series and the snarks from Half Life.

The character I feared the most (at least as a young kid playing games at night in the dark) had to have been the T-103 (better known as Mr. X) in Resident Evil 2. He wasn't really anything special, but he'd come out of nowhere and all you could think to do was run.

i was more scared of the tyrant in RE3. I saved all of my big bullets for the tyrant in RE2, but it was annoying the way he crashed through walls. The RE3 tyrant RUNS. And ALWAYS CHASES YOU THROUGH DOORS.
True that. Being chased through doors was something I didn't foresee when I first played RE3, and that did scare the hell out of me.\

I used to play Doom in the wee hours of the morning, the sound of demons shuffling about on the other side of the wall is the most unnerving gaming memory I have.

You reminded me just now of the Fast zombies in Resident Evil REmake. o_o Bastards always made my skin crawl right out the back door.

Mindflayers from BG2 and Beholders (if you don't have Baldur's sheild.

When solo-ing it was horrible. They'd lock you in place and slowly kill you while you couldn't do a thing.

I have been killed many times by a group of Kobolds, being held by hold person and having to watch numerous kobolds slowwwwly take your life away inch by inch.

My votes going to the Chameleons from Resistance 2. You have very little warning theyre around until they attempt to one-hit you from about 10m away. If you happen to be facing the wrong way, youre expired.

The Regenerators from RE4. Powerful attacks, nearly invincible and utterly terrifying to look at.

Thats an Iron Maiden. Regenerators are the ones without the many come-out-of-nowhere-to-insta-kill-you-spikes.

Not sure what the scariest is, but I would say the first time I've really had a feeling of terror from an enemy in a game is the Dopefish from Commander Keen 4. Seriously.
Those fire guys on hard made me panic and fling myself into the sky at the mere sight of them.

These Stalker things, invisible, in the darkness. Or those that "melt" your brain, so you see less and less the longer you fight them, giving of that godawfull screech...

Can´t believe nobody mentioned pyramid head from Silent Hill 2, though! Can´t quite describe that feeling, seeing him for the first time...

So true! Hearing the sound of the Nemesis (not a Tyrant) growling out "Stars" was enough to slow my pace to a crawl. I panicked EVERY time he appeared (until I was a vet at the game), and went blitzing through areas unknown trying to put distance on me and him. o_o

Regenerators from Resident Evil 4 for sure. The music and the noise they make... *shiver*. The first time you encounter them is by far the scariest part of the series for me.

Aliens versus Predator 2 is a terrifying game with one of the most terrifying sci-fi monsters.

I gun down 'em basterds though.

The V-rex in King Kong when you play as Jack, it can't be killed. Can kill you with two hits, is huge and heavy and can smash through stone structures like they are made out of cardboard. And most of the time you have to serve as a diversion keeping the thing's attention focused on you.

The worst is when your back is turned and you are running away, you can hear its footsteps getting closer and closer, you turn around and BAM! It's right up in your face.

Half Life 2
Poison Headcrabs

Minecraft
Freaking CREEPERS from. I hate those mofos and their stealthy kamikaze blow your stuff up ways. And the giant spiders can be a pain now that they can climb up walls after you..

Dragon Age Origins
Revenants were a dreaded sight on my first playthrough.

Sword of the Stars
Bio missile using ships.

Company of Heroes
The Panzer Elite's Infantry Support Tank or Wehrmacht Ostwinds when I'm using a lot of infantry. Or on the other side, Allied Calliopes.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Bloodsuckers and Controllers.

Whenever i'm playing Half Life 2 and I hear that whirring sound of a manhack warming up.. Eurgh, bloody things.

The other enemy was in Amnesia, the invisible thing in the flooded room. My god, that made me sweat.

Is this like scary or most dreaded? Because idk, i haven't seen anything truly SCARY in video games.......... yet.

But for dreaded I got pissed whenever I saw a dragon monster in FFIV for the DS. It took like 3/4 of everyones health and took 6 minutes to kill...... then they started attacking with 2 of them per encounter. At first I was like "Ooooh, a dragon, sweet!" after the first few times i was like "Oh shit, not another dragon! I cast a spell to PREVENT random encounters, fuck you square enix!"

Creepers. That is all.
You ...ninja bastard. You win this round.

Yes nothing quite beats building your house whistling happily, the sun is shining and BANG!! Why God why!?
I decided to check out Minecraft today. I now know EXACTLY what people are talking about when it comes to creeps. ;_; I was even in the saftey of my own home when one SOMEHOW snuck in through a window. I turned the crater into a corral for animals to spawn.
