The N64 controller (it was just terrible) and the original Xbox controller before they redesigned it and made it smaller... I mean come on, how big does your logo need to be!?
Yeah, most people lack the third appendage to manipulate the stick competently. I think Japans obsession with tentacles influenced the design.Alucard 11189 said:For me, the N64 controller was one of the most uncomfortable controllers I have ever picked up, especially because I was only about 9 when the N64 came out, so it was difficult for me to wrap my hands around it. Even my dad, when he played a marathon session of Resident Evil 2 on the N64 complained that his hand was cramping up. I mean, just look at it

It was cool that you could get it in different colours though. I had the gold controller, whereas my brother had a green controller.

It's like using the Nintendo equivalent of the Xbox360 controller (an X360 controller missing the left bumper)GrimHeaper said:I would say the Gamecube is the most conformable controller I have ever seen and not the gamecube controller, the gamecube itself.
So what is the most uncomfortable controller you have used or seen?
The most awkward controller I've used is actually the mouse/keyboard setup.
I know right so many pointy ends and that handle can get in the way sometimes.Trezu said:I don't like the Gamecube Controller feels like a Rubix Cube
I forgot about the PSP and change my vote to that. mouse/keyboard doesn't get painful as quickly as the damned PSP (it isn't as bad though, when playing PSX classics though)BanicRhys said:PSP would probably be the worst for me.
Having a finger on the analogue stick and the shoulder buttons while managing to keep it in your hands can be just plain painful.
That, and the Wii remote.
The NES controller was the best controll ever, simple and responsive!spartan231490 said:NES controller anyone? Other than that, i find keyboard and mouse to be almost as bad, in fact maybe even worse, it's been a while since i've played my NES.
I see what you mean. The way we accessed the joystock was that we almost completely ignored the D-pad. I don't know why they didn't dispense of the D-pad altogether and just have the joy stick. The Rookie Gamer said:Yeah, most people lack the third appendage to manipulate the stick competently. Well at least the 360 is an enormous improvement over this heap of shit. I was never able to hit the start/select buttons on that thing. http://wongjasonh.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/xbox_cont.jpgPoisonUnagi said:It's a huge deal for me because I almost ALWAYS use the D-Pad and the right button is impossible to hit on that ghastly thing.9_6 said:I never got how people can call ps2 controllers good but xbox controllers terrible.PoisonUnagi said:![]()
Oh dear. PS1 Dualshock will do me, thanks.
Or PS2 Dualshock, it's basically the same.
They're the exact same thing right down to the button layout except that an analog stick swaps position with the d-pad which is no big deal.
That's actually what kills it for me. I hate the placement of the left analog stick. I find it incredibly difficult to control when my hand is in kind of a closed form rather than an open one I get with a Dual Shock. With that said, still a huge improvement over the original Xbox controller.9_6 said:I never got how people can call ps2 controllers good but xbox controllers terrible.PoisonUnagi said:![]()

I've used it before, and I have to say that controller is epic. I don't think I've ever felt more badass playing a game before or since.Josh Horton said:How about the game Steel Battalion's controller?

That would be the most uncomfortable controller ever, especially if you don't have a table to set it on and have to have it on your lap!
This just floors me. Even my Xbox playing buddies prefer the PS3 controller to the 360. They prefer the shoulder buttons and the d-pad. Just the other day, my friend was complaining about how shitty the d-pad is on the 360 controller.Mr Thin said:PS3 controller. Which is basically the same as the PS1 & 2 controller.
I mentioned this in the 'perfect controller' thread.
Can't stand the bastard; it's ugly, unwieldy, and the triggers. Good lord, those shockingly terrible triggers.
I'm jealous as hell of the PS library (PS2 specifically), but one of the main reasons I'm glad I'm an Xbox man is because of those controllers.
Fuck you beat me to it. Though I just now saw the thread. oh wellJosh Horton said:How about the game Steel Battalion's controller?
