Locomotion
Basically Transport Tycoon remade with Roller Coaster Tycoon graphics. However, the public really didn't like it because despite the improved graphics, it came out in 2004. This was one of those 2D-attempting-to-be-3D-through-isometric-views games, which in 2004 were pretty much obsolete. But I really don't care about graphics, so I focused on the rest of the game, which was actually pretty good (other than the computer player being incredibly stupid).
Halo
Halo seems to have fallen out of public favor because of the fanboy hysteria, but the original one was actually pretty good. It was both my first M rated game and first fps (my second shooter ever after SWIV 3D Video Game Assault, a third person shooter revolving around a tank that can transform into hovermode, flymode, etc. and had a large arsenal of various weapons). I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords
Dunno why people hated it, but I personally loved it. Sure it was less perfected than Civ4, and I would rather play Civ4, but it was a good game to play as something slightly different (as it was pretty much watered down Civ4 in space).
