In response to similar overrated band forum (Courtesy of Vanilla Bean if memory serves me)
What bands do you know that dont get the attention/praise/reverance/sacrificail lambs that they so rightfully deserve?

For me, a few names spring to mind. Volbeat, Karnivool, Story of the Year, The Amity Affliction

One Without. They're picking up though and should reach the level of awareness they deserve soon.

Celldweller, hes not a band, but more of a one man band. Hes awesome and you most likely all heard of him from one game or another. First time i heard his work was in need for speed:

Also, a worthy mention is Fort Minor and Styles of beyond, who work closely with Celldweller.

I didnt realise it was one guy. And i heard of him through DR2 Case Zero. My respect for him increases ten-fold

Thread exists, it's still active too. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.254390-The-Most-Over-Rated-Band]

This was not search bar approved, OP.

I say what I said there: The Beatles.
I believe you may have missed the fundamental difference between my thread and the other, this being bands you believe are UNDERRATED. And i did make sure i gained the approval of the search bar before posting.

.......oh damn it. I'm sorry! My sincerest apologies and I really read that wrong. I'm going to edit my original post. I should stop being on threads at 5am. Sorry again. Let me contribute to the thread.

Underrated? OC Remix. Yeah they're not original works but they're remixed and I love that site and the work they do to bring enjoyable music to the present through various genres. I don't hear many people speak of them so they may not be underrated to others, but they don't seem to get the recognition they deserve. So far I only know of Capcom using their music in Super Street Fighter II Remix, outside of that I think the site needs more recognition. Or maybe just with my own friends.

Gavin Mikhail also seems underrated or just plain unknown. He's done some amazing songs and really hope he gets more popular with time.

Not a big remix fan myself, but they have a few choice pieces (Passing of the Blue Crown FTW, Thank you Extra Creditz)
And no harm no foul :p

I personally really like Envy and Other Sins and would like to see them get some recognition outside of the UK, but I'm not even sure if they are still together.

It's a stretch, but Dethklok. Most people I know don't take them seriously, but their music is actually quite good.

The Format, The Rolling Stones. The Stones are a stretch, but so many people believe that modern music is where it's at today, and so few bands remain around (and good) this long, that great songs like "Plundered My Soul" go unnoticed. Same applies to Tom Petty's band today.

Transcending Bizarre? Some great symphonic black metal with some avante garde elements that simply do not get the attention they deserve :(

Matt & Kim. Not many people now about Matt & Kim, right. Right?
Check out "Daylight" by Matt & Kim.
Oh, and Rjd2- although he's only one guy.
Check out "Ghostwriter" by Rjd2.

Happy Ratatat is finally picking up speed, though.
