Everyone in the game had silly clothing. But anyway, dimensional said:Other than those Snow and Hope from XIII were terrible especially Snow he goes through no development at all Hope changes a bit at least. The only reason Snow is above most of the cast for XII was because despite me hating him he does have a personality (a bloody annoying one) and his dress sense (is stupid) makes him stand out a bit
As far as I'm aware Vaan was actually added at the last minute.krazykidd said:Honestly i can't stand Vaan . He is such a Boob. I mean seriously he has to be the most immature entitle , little piece of trash i have ever had as a main protagonist. He needs a good kick in the pants. ... But then again , Balthier keeps saying he is the main character so i'm not sure if this counts. The main character can't die right ?
So because of that technicallity i choose this.Sean Hollyman said:Montblanc from FF Tactics Advance, stupid useless rabbit
people buying the latest ffs arent exactly debasing that notiontheultimateend said:Square is convinced their main demographic are people who like hyper feminine empty slates for protagonists.
I see we have different ideas about Snow to me he just seemed extremely weak and annoying throughout the game his constant Im gonna be a hero crap gets old really quickly if youre gonna be a hero just do it for gods sake stop talking about it but he dosent he starts the game saying im gonna be a hero and thats all he ever says throughout the game right up till it conclusion just like a broken record seriously dood get over yourself, theres a reason he gets abused throughout the game by Lightning and its because hes so unlikeable in every way (although maybe thats what they were going for if so bravo because they nailed it and hes a masterfully crafted character for this purpose), I wasnt particularly fond of Lightning either but at least she got on with stuff without spouting recycled garbage every other line and ocasionally you saw a different side to her. Sazh was awesome though.SpaceBat said:*big snip*
THAT THING NEVER HAPPENED. GOT IT.Elementary - Dear Watson said:Im surprised there is not much mention of FFX-2!!
God those girls annoyed me so much! That was a real low point for square!! How did Yuna end up that annoying!?
See, I loved X-2. I loved how happy go lucky it was, I loved it's combat system (seriously, if ever FF from then on used X-2's, I wouldn't complain, although I missed summons), and it was just a load of fun!Charli said:THAT THING NEVER HAPPENED. I time traveled and erased it from the timeline. Any memory you have of it is simply odd dreams of a parallel world.
(God I wish)
Main entries though I think, no one counts that as a thing.
He's annoying, he's literally the reason that I didn't finish the game. I literally hated him. He's the sort of person who I would either never associate with; if they refused to let that happen, I would really, really want to hurt them.alphamalet said:Honestly, what is so bad about Hope?
Yeah, the whole affair wasn't conveyed well at all and I didn't believe for a second that he was any different when his mum was alive. The fact that he gets emotional because his Mom dies and he gets branded for death within the first two hours of the game?
Also very stupid, and annoying. I mean, Snow was an awkward weirdo, who thought he was much cooler than he actually is, but he didn't kill the kids mum, she made her own choices. The fact that he balmes Snow for putting his mother in a spot where she gets killed?
It's realistic sure, but I don't want to have that shit in my games. I don't play games to listen to children whinge and complain. I could sit around on the train around 3:15 if I wanted that. It's twisted logic, but I would say a realistic reaction given the circumstances. He goes through a lot of character growth, and his relationship with the rest of the party changes considerably throughout the course of the game.
I don't know who all of those characters are, but I think the fact that I am now 21 not a pre-teen/teen probably has something to do with it. Also, Vivi was sad/shy, but wasn't pathetic. How is he more whinny than Terra, Vivi, Celes, Cloud, Dagger, or a lot of other people's favorite Final Fantasy characters?
No. I hated him so much that I turned it off and haven't touched it since. I'm such a huge FF fan than I actually imported a Japanese Lightning Edition PS3, when it was stolen, I never got around to replacing it. I intended to fully, then right before I did I realised that not only do I not need a PS3, but FF13 was fucking aweful. For those commenting about him, did you finish the game? If you didn't, I understand, but I'd be curious to know.
You're probably right about the writing being consistent, and I definitely agree that if hope's character had existed in FF1, I might have put up with him. I wouldn't have liked him, but I probably wouldn't have given up on the game due to him.I honestly believe the writing of Final Fantasy has been at a pretty consistent level since the SNES days (with FFXII and FFX-2 being the exceptions). I think the MAJOR difference is that all of the classic Final Fantasy games had no voice acting. If they did, then some of the iffy dialog in the classic FF games would have been far more recognizable. Bad dialog in text is way more tolerable than bad dialog spoken. I seriously wonder how Final Fantasy XIII's story would have been received if it hadn't been voice acted. I think it would have been received very differently.
