almost anything daedric in TES:3

I mean seriously, just wearing full daedric armour without maxed strength left little space for anything to do the god-damn killing.

The rocket launcher is also pretty useless in any halo game.

The Railgun from Deus Ex: Invisible war.

A lot of hype around it, there was even a mission to retrieve the prototype. But with little ammo and lousy accuracy it really wasn't as good as they said it was.
Not if you are stealthy. You can disable cameras/turrets with it.

The Fatman (and by extension the MIRV) in Fallout 3

The firepower it provided was wasted on anything except the likes of Super Mutant Behemoths and ammunition was too scarce for it to be used regularly anyway. The massive splash damage made it useless in most firefights, as they tended to occur within the radius. That, and it weighed a ton.

Certainly it was fun the first few times for novelty value, but after that I never used it again.

I found the Slayer in Perfect Dark to be pretty damn useless in a multiplayer situation. The normal rockets were painfully slow and the guided rockets left you wide open for way too long.

The Rocket Rifle in Jagged Alliance 2. Its constantly bigged up ("A new generation of weapons. Weapons like you've never seen!") over the course of the game and its rubbish. It has a tiny magazine capacity, its heavy, its slow to fire, it can't take accessories, each weapon is finger print locked to one user and its incapable of full automatic fire. Against a numerically superior force (read: every enguagement in Jagged Alliance 2) where supressive fire or stealth is needed the weapon is utterly worthless. The only thing its good for is allowing Arulcan special forces to ruin your day.

The alien guns in Borderlands are pretty much good for one shot at a low armoured enemy.
I tend to hate all alien guns.
Part of the problem with the alien guns is that by the time you see one you've already built up weapon proficiencies in other categories, making the alien guns pale in comparison. My character's alien weapon proficiency is up to 8 or 9 now and that makes the guns much better.

My best weapon is still a revolver though :).

Actually, there was one incident where I found it quite useful... as I was in a school building or something, I forget... but the point is that I was on one side of this chasm and there were 13 super mutants on the other side. I didn't know how many there were until afterward when I went over and counted them, but I took them all out with one nuke.

The Zodiac in Ratchet & Clank Going Commando was supposed to be the best gun, but its predecessor, the RYNO II, is far better. In fact, half of the guns in the game are.
I knew someone would say it, yes the zodiac wasn't very good was it?
It wasn't so much that it was a bad gun, more that it was slow to charge, and only carried four shots. While it could wipe out all enemies on screen in one shot, for the amount of enemies to ever bother you, you'd probably do it a lot quicker with about ten to twenty RYNO shots. Add in to that that the Zodiac costs 2,500,000 bolts compared to the RYNO's still hefty but nowhere near as bad 1,000,000 bolts, and the fact that one bullet for the Zodiac costs 10,000, and you can't just find a refill anywhere like you can with every other weapon, and the gun, while powerful, is just not cost effective.

I would say the symbol of torment from planescape torment. IT comes so late in the game the only enemy you can use it against is the final boss. And if you manage to talk the final boss into doing what you want, then you don't use it at all, and get a better ending because of it.

This sort of doesn't count, but in Tales of Vesperia, there's the Fell Arms, which are only good when you defeat the secret third form of the final boss and start a New Game+. When you first get them, they probably suck compared to the rest of your stuff (there's even an in-game scene which says this almost exactly). But after you restart the game, their ATK apparently goes up by one for EACH KILL you get with them.

The Tesla Cannon in Fallout 3 is one of the ones that first comes to mind. When I first got it I thought it looked awesome, plus I rarely use laser weapons so I had over 1800 shots for it. But as I went further throughout the game I found how useless it was. It took 1 shot to kill a Vertibird in flight, but 2-3 if it was on the ground. Also, 2 shots against turrets, and even more annoying was the 3+ shots that it took to kill Enclave soldiers. Even with a high big guns skill I still can't do much with it, plus it's really slow.

The demon armours in TES:4
The weigh like 50 pounds a piece so you can only carrly like a full set at a time and one weapon.
Not worth it.

The rocket launcher from the original Half-Life. Long load time + One shot+ Not much ammo= One crap gun
So...you want an automatic rocket launcher with a large ammo pool? ...well, the Unreal Tournament series had a triple barreled version, but it feels a bit wimpy when you fire it.

The railgun in Red Faction. Shooting through walls with an x-ray scope, very good. That fact that it did virtually no damage by the time you got it, very bad.

Eridian guns on borderlands, most dont have many shots, the regen rate is slow and the cannons have REALLY slow projectiles, really I can outrun them. Oh yeah and my Uber sniper is better :p

The gun you get to use to defeat that huge alien in Crysis(forgot the name). You only get to use it once and fire it only a couple of times.
