Violence is an inherent part of many videogames, even Oddworld where the main character is a pacifist, has no problem mind controlling mooks to do his work for him, so weapons are usually used as a hard rock is better than a clenched fist unless you are the goddamn rock or something.
What is the most useless videogame weapon you have ever come across in an RPG, MMO, FPS etc.?
For me that is Single Shotguns in New Vegas.
1) One shot at a time, most likely dead by the time your done reloading.
2) Long reload time for one damn shell.
3) Does jackshit.

How they hell did they get away with making it only a single shot? Such a rip off...

OT: The Poison Blades/Darts in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (in single player). I mean seriously who would even use that weapon? To me, it served absolutely no purpose during the story mode missions. I only messed around with it for a bit after I beat the game and got the Armor of Romulus. I would have just used the Dual Hidden Blades!

For me,it's a toss up between the Archimedes Orbital Laser from New Vegas and the Spartan Laser Cannon from Halo 3 (possibly 2, I can't really remember).
I know both weapons that I mentioned are powerful, possibly some of the most powerful of their prospective games, but they both have extremely long lag times between trigger pull and enemy death. Plus, each weapon only has a few targets that it is truly effective against.

The Poison Blade/Darts is really a matter of opinion. I used them quite often, either to cause a distraction to run up and brutally murder guards, or to eliminate those annoying bards/minstrels. In fact, I was able to use every weapon effectively during each play through of the games.

Oh God, I totally know what you mean, dude. The majority of the Energy Weapons that I tried in New Vegas seemed to suck harder than a Dyson Vacuum!

But maybe it had something to do with me NEVER leveling up my skill in that area...?

I'm old school. Lead is the way to go!

Magikarp is not a weapon.

As for me, I have no real complaints. In most games heavy weaponry is my weak point, I can barely use them, but give me a pistol and say goodnight to Mr.brain. Worst IMO is green shell from mario kart. It was completely luck based 90% of the time, and rarely hit anyway.

The Tanegashima musket in MGS4. Sure it has the chance 1/3 of blasting out a hurricane every time its shot, but the reload is just too long to bother with.

It was fixed in Peace Walker, sort of, where the reloading took about half as long. And it still packed a decent punch even if it didnt tornado your victim away.

The fish food in Jet Force Gemini springs to mind. You throw the fish food like a grenade-style weapon. It attracts... get ready for this... FISH! But only if you throw it in the water. If you try to throw it at enemies they'll laugh at you while they fill you with holes. It's only other use was to distract these giant roach things that did fuck all for damage anyway and could be easily taken care of with ANY OTHER WEAPON.

The Laser RCW was pretty decent, though it burned through ammo like a ************, and the Alien Blaster (if you chose the Wild Wasteland perk) was devastating. I killed Legate Lanius in two/three shots with the blaster, though I did max out the Energy Weapons skill when I did that.
But for the most part I was like you, I stuck to the good old fashioned lead slingers, or the explosive and flame weapons. I used the grenade machine gun to wipe out Ceaser's camp on three separate runs through the game.

Darts in Morrowind.

Seriously, did anybody use those and manage to hit when you actually did?
It's Morrowind, so you have to hit AND pass a marskmanship skill roll for it to actually register (pretty sure it was marksmanship for darts, might be wrong on the specific skill). Maybe your marskmanship was bad? Some of the darts you get in Tribunal are decidedly overpowered with a decent marksmanship score.

The poison blades (and especially the darts) are ludicrously useful once you realise that no one notices you using them. You can walk up to a group of guards, stick one in the stomach, and walk away. If you get far enough away, they have no idea you did it. If you mean "why bother when you can just stab them", that's sort of true for essentially every weapon in AC - once you can counter, it never really matters what weapon you use.

Speaking of the "Wild Wasteland" Perk, I didn't notice that many changes...

Do you remember what it DID change?

Klobb klobb klobb klobb klobb klobb klobb

It's even worse when you realize it uses 9mm ammo, which the starting pistol, the PP7, also uses, but you can learn to use the PP7 effectively. Not the Klobb, whose suckiness magically makes bullets do less damage, probably due to its rubberband-based delivery method.

I remember watching a video on youtube that used a Magikarp to do insane damage, one-hitting even a Mewtwo and a Lugia. I don't remember the details, but it involving using Baton Pass and some other move whose name I forgot to get out a Magikarp with 1HP which got a bonus to all stats inversely proportional to how much HP it had. Then the Magikarp would attack with Flail (which also deals more damage the lowest the pokemon's HP is) and always attack first because of its inflated speed, which would hit with twice the force of Explosion.

I never found that video again.

Not much changed outside of the Alien Blaster and some aliens where you'd otherwise find mercenaries and a rail-gun (I can't remember the name).
Leaving GoodSpring, you'd run across a skeleton wearing the 'suave gambler's hat' (very similar to Indie's iconic hat)lying in a discarded fridge.
In Nipton you'd come across a pair of charred skeletons named Owen and Beru, lying in the same position as Owen and Beru in Star Wars.
Near the Devil's Throat ( I think) and Bitter Springs you'd come across a large, undetonated nuke.
And after leaving the robot factory (where you re-program FISTO) you'd get attacked by three mean old lady bandits
Also, Mr. New Vegas would occasionally mention that he tried to measure his charisma on a Vigor Tester and had the machine burst into flames.

He said most useless, not weapons that do little damage.
If you're referring to the Rocket Jumper in TF2, have you ever rocket jumped to the point with the Pain Train equipped taking no damage from your rockets? That weapon is the backcap glory gun if you can rocket jump worth anything.

If you're not referring to the TF2 one, disregard everything i just said.
