Mount and Blade: Warband is the second game in an epic series, it involves you, (A random noble/warrior/peasant/craftsman), in a Medieval world!
The main aspect of the game is raising an army, becoming a vassal, getting a town, getting more favor, getting involved in a war, becoming King. But you can do much more, from being a bandit to a Merchant!
The battles are epic scale, over 400 soldiers on the field at once, and you're ONE OF THEM, so you're in the midst of it, trying to give orders to your soldiers and eventually win the field.
But that's not the only awesome thing, from getting favour from doing jobs for another lord, to back-stabbing your friend, infiltrating enemy castles, tournaments and managing your very own village, (If you become a vassal of course).
Then War-Time will inevitably come, and you'll be a very low ranking noble/officer/mercenary and you'll take part in sieges, capturing enemy nobles and selling them back. It is essential that you do as much as possible during this time.
The game is also unforgiving, you're not going to be able to take down a major noble at the start, they'll crush you, and re-making your army is quite a hassal.
Essentially you start with only a few volunteers, but if you're rich you can hire mercenarys or just train your volunteers to become whatever role you wish.
Overall, I am really asking, does anyone on the Escapist play and ENJOY this wonderful game?
