No no. If it was 4Chan soda it be called "Rape Cola"

And less tongue and cheek, and more just... offensive. I think 4Chans humor is way different then the idea of Hitler being like an extreme 90s mascot cartoon character.
Is this not counting /pol/ then?

The reason this is pretty unacceptable, well several, but first and fore most is: There are actually a significant number of people who actually believe that "Hitler did nothing wrong" and either "the Holocaust was a lie", or "with the way the Jews were acting, they deserved the holocaust and they don't deserve sympathy for it today." There are plenty of people just stupid enough to take such a "joke name" totally at face value with seriousness.

That's beside the point it's an unmotivated, lazy, internet meme level joke that really isn't that funny. The amount of piss it takes is less than an ant can provide.
Well I'd also add, I think an extension of the joke is the PepsiCo CEO actually going through with it being wishy-washy as all hell. Maybe they quietly release the soda cause they're contractually obligated to, but it's such a tasty flavor it catches on and people demand it so they have to make more of it.

And theres company meetings and there like "And now here are the sales figures for... *despondent sigh* Hitler Did Nothing Wrong Mountain Dew... Did we ever find out who came up with that stupid contest? Was it Randy? Tell Randy he's fired."

Mm..maybe?

Please don't hit me...

I said it'd go on my shelf. I'd never drink it, I have enough health problems.

But I was under the impression Game Fuel was a cure-all. Is it not?

There are crazy people who actually believe that.

There are slightly less crazy people that believe he had the right idea (one race eventually), but implemented it the wrong way.

There was a twilight zone/outer limits or some show like that episode where someone wanted to kill Hitler (With a time machine or something), but was shown that if he was stopped, the world would be overpopulated and all this much worse stuff would happen.

So yeah, it's kinda insane, like people are trying to justify his actions, or don't think they are wrong, or that he was just crazy but had a good general idea etc.

This may be a joke, but.....I'm pretty sure it's not a joke to some people, and will probably upset quite a few others. They should have had SOME limits on the name of the drink (perhaps limiting it to so many words and not using any historical figures or current political figures.

I mean if the winning title said something about killing a political figure, I'm sure they would not have used it....and while this isn't as extreme, I think it also should have been veto'd.

Yes. 'Cuz Pepsi had the huge balls to actually do it. I'm not a Nazi or racist or anti-semite. Nazis have no credible power any more. But if you can use your creative voice and take a huge risk to poke fun and sell some sugar water at the same time, I applaud it.

I would walk out of the store with big armfuls of the new flavor and post a pic of it to social media. Only because when is something ludicrous like this every going to happen again? It's better than taking drugs, dangerous stunts, voting for Brexit, or starting a Youtube prank channel just to say you did something crazy

4Chan humour is basically the equivalent of running into a biker bar, shouting "You're a bunch of fags!" and waiting around to see what happens next.

No, because it's not just a joke, there are people that actually claim this, or who look rather similar if you squint a bit.
Those people will still be racist even if such products aren't sold.

OT: No, I would not. In part because I wouldn't want anything with Hitler's name in my appartment and in part because I am sick of internet trolls ruining everything. I don't think we shold let trolls name NASA's next space project for Boogerfarts or a cruiseliner for Bonerforest. We have a few immature individuals who make it impossible to take things seriously on the internet and it makes young people look imature which in turn makes it harder to compete for jobs against more experienced people when you're hunting for a job. Fuck you trolls, you could have taken 5 minutes to come up with a clever name for what we could have named a new Soda, but you decided to take two seconds to type out something offensive that you knew would end up ruining the campaign completely.

No, I am not offended, I am just bored with trolls.

I don't get it. So did this really happen?
In as far as they held a contest to name a soda, and this is the one that won I believe.

They didn't actually make it for obvious reasons.

And then claiming how awesome you were for trolling them. Assuming of course you survive the experience.

Yeah, they wanted to keep their jobs. Now, if they just drop their alignment with Doritos...

That's similar to the arguments used to try and censor music lyrics in the 80's and 90's.
Excepting for the lack of censorship. I am not obliged to buy something that somebody else thinks is funny.

The dream of enjoying a nice flavour of Hitler Did Nothing Wrong on Boaty McBoatface has unfortunately mostly died.
I still think they should have run with Boaty McBoatFace.

They did an internet poll and it came up with a name that wasn't racist, sexist, anti-LGBT, otherwise bigoted, and it included no curse words. That poll deserved to be immortalized as the miracle it was.
I can't decide whether I'd prefer Drinky McDrink Face or Mountain Dew McMountain DewFace.

Edit: Not that it's relevant because one of the options was Diabetus. That Diabetus didn't win is the greatest injustice ever (in the course of this competition).

Silly man, refusing to purchase something or laud it is the same as censorship now! If you do not laugh at EVERY obnoxious or insulting statement, you're a PC liberal with no sense of humor!

Honestly? I would so buy a soda like that.
So would I. And I'd proudly put it on display. Maybe even buy a few of them, especially if they run with it and give the cans/bottles different colors to celebrate the release.

I mean I wouldn't drink it as I have standards. But I would totally buy it.

Then again, I have friends that celebrate any receipt they get for $6.66 and such.

You mean the flavor of Mountain Dew isn't already offensive enough?
Okay, ya see, now I'm triggered.

I know I'm sterotype, I friggin love Diet Mt Dew.
Meh, I am more of a Surge or Moon Mist guy. The only Dew I drink anymore is the Baja Blast. As for the Hilter flavor, it's sounds pointless to me. it came and went without much people noticing. I didn't even know it existed until now.
