Oh yes, totally agree. I couldn't believe it, it was so sad! However, most amazing death scene I've seen in a movie. And obvious if you remember the beginning.
WAAAAASHHH!!!!! Everytime I think of Serenity I lament the death of my favorite character.
The Ideon: Be Invoked
Kasha, Bes, Joliver, Ashura, Karaya all die pretty awful and sad deaths... these ones stand out in a movie that is famous for killing off EVERY CHARACTER in the Apocalyptic finale.
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings
Boromir, not so much because he dies an awesome death, but because Sean Bean was so damn good at portraying the character that I was very sad to see him die.
Totally agree with you guys re. Serenity and Watchmen.
Serenity:
They killed two of my favourite characters in that film! Though, having said that, I wouldn't have wanted any of them to die. I like the whole crew equally. Damn
Watchmen spoiler
I haven't seen the film, but read the comic book last week. Even in picture form, it shocked me. Especially the one who did it. Now I need to watch the film...
Nothing is more sad than watching Actor #42345 die in Pearl Harbor during the Japanese bombing attacks. That guy was just so sad to see die.
/joke
In all seriousness, I was so sad to see Anakin Skywalker die (I realize that he didn't technically die, but the good side of him sure did), made me really wanna kill George Lucas for not inserting some other random character that becomes vader, but oh well.
Dallas from the seminal movie "Alien" (that cant possibly be a spoiler can it?)
Every time my friends and i watch the movie we scream for him to "Look the other way", but he never listens...
I have to say the biggest terar jerker for me....and im embarssed to admit this
Bicentenial Man
Andrew (adam or whatever he is called?)dying at the end of Bicentennial Man
oh yes i've spoilered it as some people may not have seen it yet, it is truthfully a happy ending, but a tear jerker at that
Also
Because the same thing had happened in the same month
Marley and ME
marley dies
The ending to braveheart gets me alll the time
The ending to Gladiator, especially the speech by Juba, we shall meet once again but not now my friend, not now.
Hate to say this but the ending to 7lbs is sad.
Serenity - not gonna explain this one again, been done alot of times already.
American History X - damn so shocking
EDIT: Actually Donne Darko - not because of what happened, but the way it ties in nicely, especially with the haunting rendition of "Mad World"
EDIT: Although not a film, Andre Pocelli (?) version of Time to Say Goodbye, personal reasons but that song has me in tears ALLL the damn time, even when I hear the Elmo Version lol
