On a related note; a movie I don't want anyone (on the Internet!) to know I didn't like:

2001: A Space Odyssey:

It. Dragged. On!
Finally! I hated it. Hated. If I wanted to watch stuff move around in slow motion in space, I'd... well I just wouldn't. Gah! Why does everybody like it? I like pretentious arty films, and I didn't like this.

As to movies I like, but don't want to say: Pride & Prejudice. The newest one. It's really pretty... And perhaps Grandma's Boy, but I only neglect to tell some people.

I LOVE Grandma's Boy! I can understand not admitting to it though, there is sort of a stigma attached to it, not sure why.

And also Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny! A lot of people call them metal poseurs, but I think they're great.

Kate and Leopold

I have an unhealthy man-crush on Hugh Jackman (also Christian Bale, so The Prestige really threw me for a loop)

They're not metal poseurs, they're folkalicious mock rockers! I didn't think liking Tenacious D was anything to be ashamed of though... maybe at work because of all the swearing but still.

I still think that Ewan McGregor really carried the whole first trilogy.
Interesting, I'm of the opinion he butchered it.
He has a really strange method of acting, I think. People either tend to love it or hate it; like a serious sort of Seagal figure.

The evil dead musical is hilarious tho the funniest bit is I saw on some site that in 2009 they are going to make a movie version of it, so thats a movie of a musical based off a movie...
Hairspray is the same. Also, Footloose, as you may know was made into a musical, and (I think) is in the works to be remade as a movie-musical.

I can't really say I'm ashamed of liking the movies I do, but if you mean "Movies that you like that mostly everyone thinks is shit", then I have a list.

Waterworld
Transformers
the Tomb Raider movies
Star Wars I-III
Daredevil
Down With Love
The Island
And probably some more, but I can't think of any more right now.

Augh, I'm sorry. I can't care if there's good acting or anything in it. The Island is agonizingly plagiarized. It's horrifying obvious if you've ever seen the old movie. I can't give them credit for stealing someone else's idea, remaking it, and hoping that nobody had seen the old one. Just get the rights and give them the credit and put up your little disclaimer! It's not that difficult, really!

Go ahead, look for it. Granted, I saw it on MST3K, but still. It's CLONUS: The Parts Horror.

Dragonheart!

Big. Fuzzy. Dragon!

Also, Starship Troopers is FTW, anyone who doesn't "get" it must be sterilized for the good of the Federation.

Also...Treasure Planet >.<

The cyborg was cool! He had a cool cybernetic arm!

"Flags of our fathers" and "Letters from Iwo Jima". I didn't even want to see flags of our fathers in the first place , but both films really got to me, especially Letters from Iwo Jima. I spent nearly the entire film scrounging up every ounce of manliness i had in me containing the tears and trying not break out crying in the middle of the theater.

Here's one, I'm ashamed to admit, that I enjoyed immensely.

Final Fantasy: Advent Children

Chew on that for a while. What's ironic is that I'm saying this in a video game forum, which makes it all the more shameful.

Don't know if you know this but in the UK Starship Troopers was loved I don't know about the States but it was named in a top ten films of the year.

Films I don't want people to know I like are:
Little Miss Sunshine (I cried during a bit in it :-/)
Godzilla (It's a childhood thing, plus Jean Reno is in it)
The first half of I am Legend before the crappy monsters
