In this thread we post the lamest, weirdest, and/or crappy movies we really like but won't admit if confronted directly.

Here are mine:

- Gone With The Wind. Frickin' ancient, but Clark Gable rocks balls in this one. "Frankly, my dear... I don't give a damn." Classic.

- Starship Troopers. It has everything. Violence, aliens, cow mutilation, right wing sympathies, even tits. The characters have all the acting talent of wooden dummies, but that just adds to the flavor of it all.

- Dune. Cat milking, self destruct buttons on humans, and an incomprehensible storyline. I wish I was ripped like Sting.

Do your worst!

Starship Troopers is nothing to be ashamed of. It's satirical in so many ways, even the crappiness of it.

I don't think there are any films that I secretly enjoy whilst pretending not to...

Although I suggest everyone watches a film called 'Haggard'.

Super Mario Bros. Movie- .... I still think it's awesome. Bad fashion and bad plot just combine to cancel out the badness and make it good.

Resident Evil series- Okay, so, while they all went down hill and did not follow the game plotline, I still thought it was nice and original

Steel Magnolias- Okay, I live in the South in the USA, so that film is not so much a work of fiction so much as "oh my god, this is just like how me and my friends act, well, the female ones anyway". Plus it has some of the best humor, like Miss Christmas "being caught with her tinsel around her ankles".

The Newer Star Wars- I don't care if it's "not canon" or some stupid shit like that. It had cool fights and big explosions. What more could you ask for?

Is that the one where Martin Clunes gets flown to the top of the country at the end of his stag night?

Most Disney animated movies.

Godfather 3

Mars Attacks

The Spook who sat by the Door (though thankfully no1 knows what it is so I dont have to hide it :p)

Metropolis: NOT the anime (although I wouldnt admit to liking that either)
-------------

For the record, there is nothing wrong with liking Starship Troopers, Dune, or Gone with the Wind; theyre all good movies. The new Starwars trilogy however should not be liked (except maybe attack of the clones), not because theyre not canon, but because Phantom Menace &, to a lesser extent the other two, were crap. Even Peter Serafinowicz thought Phantom Menace was crap & he voiced Darth Maul :p

This is the "movies you don't want others to know you like" thread. SO I can't be ashamed. Besides, I have Star Wars fanboys as friends, I get it from them too. Mars Attacks was just awesome, no shame there.

Wait.. wait.. wait? Are you kidding me? Metropolis is seriously one of the greatest movies of all time, how can you be ashamed of liking it?

EDIT: Also, I'd have to throw out D-War here. Yes, it sucked balls, but it did so with some style at least. Best worst experience of a movie I've ever had.

The Island - Bay gets too much hate; but the movie had Sean Bean FFS!

On a related note; a movie I don't want anyone (on the Internet!) to know I didn't like:

2001: A Space Odyssey:

It. Dragged. On!

Why should you be ashamed about liking a movie - you like what you like. At least you've judged the film on its merits rather than following a crowd

Anne Hatheway is a really good actress i've gotta say but it was more the content of the film that got me like nightfish said.

tend to follow the rule that i'll try anything once and give it an open mind.

I like old 80's flicks. Can't Buy Me Love and Lucas are two of my favorites. Before anyone says anything, shut up in your head. :)

Doom.... it was awful, but still get a kick out of it.

P.S. Starship Troopers rules, no one should be ashamed of that movie.

I loveeeeeeeee Cary Grant movies. Not really ashamed of it though. He was hot stuff back in the day. hehe As a hopeless romantic I just like all the black and white movies really. They just don't make em' like they used to. *sighs*
