Every movie Jim Carrey.I seriously dislike him as an actor.Yet almost everyone around loves him.

I guess they just don´t know of good cinema photography.
Being a bit smug here are we?

OT: Disaster Movie. Yes, not many people liked it, but everyone I know in school likes it and I just can't see why.

Armageddon (yet another Michael Bay movie), The Fifth Element, and pretty much any movie involving Bruce Willis. There's also Transformers (everything, not just the movies).

The dark fucking knight. There, I said it (as has a few others, but shut up i'm trying to make a point here)
Pirates of the caribbean 2&3
Anything Monty Python
The godfather (the whole trilogy)
The transformers movies
Did I mention He-man, thundercats, G.I. Joe and every other sunday morning cartoon except TMNT? I noticed a trend to people having fangasms at the mere mention of the stuff...I know it's not movies but it's bothered me a lot. Same for Lovecraft's books. What the fuck is so goddamn good about them?
Also applies to the zelda games excluding OoT, I can see how that was good and revolutionary for it's time and stuff.

300. May work as a visual novel, but it felt empty to me. Nice photography and that was it. Unlikable characters (all spartans are so pretentious and over the top, and persians equally bad), horrible action (yes, you read me right, it is ridiculous, it was supposed to be an intense, crawling against the odds film, but i goes over the top, with ridiculous stunts and completley voiding the argument that led to the downfall of leonidas, that being that the fight together covering each other with the shields, and it only happens in one point), and a very poor story (forgetting about the battle where there is no story at all, the rest what just absurd and plain). The only moment I enjoyed was the dance scene of the oracle, and it was because she was gorgeous.

Also, i could get over an argument about several that are being mentioned, but this is an opinion thred not a discussion one.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but I was so boring and generic, and the ending just screamed "lets be as tragic as possible to get kudos with the Schindler's List crowd"

Just my opinion
I agree with this one.

Also, Cloverfield. Everyone I talk to about it liked it, I despised it. However, I want the damned camera from that movie.

The stupid thing survived (these and some I don't recall, it's been a bit) nearby explosions, a tank firing nearby without so much as a video stutter, getting pounced on and nipped at by the crab parasites, chomped by the main monster, dropped to the ground from the main monster's mouth, fracking NUKED, then subsequently buried until several tons of rubble. All of this and the tape is freaking fine.

Other cameras get dropped from a height of 2 feet or less and pretty much shatter while possibly ruining the tape inside.

Damn, I was hoping we could have a single thread about popular media without people talking about how much they hated twilight. I'm ashamed, Escapists, we should be able to come up with many other things to have disdain for.

Ironman. The action scenes were awesome. But there were literally only three of them. Seriously, has nobody else realized that he only spends 5% of the movie actually wearing the ironman suit? And most of that time is just spent flying around in it? It's not as if I think movies are boring if they don't have lots of explosions, but I do think that action movies are boring if they don't have any action.

Bruno. A boring, childish cavalcade of penis jokes and Baron Cohen being a retard. I did't think it was funny, creative, or original. Basically Borat again (Which was not very funny either), except with more dicks in it.

Also, for what its worth, I thought Napoleon Dynamite was a steamy pile of shit as well.

Well, I wasn't really a fan of Ice Age movies. Lot of people I know thought them as alright, or pretty funny. I just didn't like a thing about them

Transformers 1.

I hate Shia Labeuf so much and I instantly hate anything with him with the exception of Indy 4

Ugh, I loath hate threads. Nobody anywhere can discuss anything they didn't enjoy in calm and sensible manner (IE with respect to someone who may HAVE ENJOYED IT).
*sigh* but it I must I must. The movie I didn't enjoy that everyone else fell all over, would be Titanic. I'm sorry, but I was bored for the first like 2 hours of the film. I honestly felt the film could've been cut down to about 90 - 120 minutes without losing anything significant.

The Shining, though not all of it. But that ending dragged on for way too long and ruined the movie for me.

Kill Bill. It's the only movie in my entire life that I sat down to watch and a few minutes later got up because it was so boring. And I'm the kind of guy that will continue to play through a game he doesn't like and has frustrating gameplay for hours before giving up. That's how boring it was.
