Basically, pick an idea for a movie that will probably never be made that you've always wanted with choice of: Director, scriptwriter, cast, etc etc.

What would i make: For me, i'd probably make a movie of the first Drakengard: I won't be making a 'reimagining' or 'based of' thing that most video game movies do...I'm making the same story, with the same characters for the first ending. Only difference is i might combine some aspects of the other pathways simply to explain things better and to make the audience understand it all better without having to consult a manual. As for director, i'd probably pick Tim Burton as the guys got a damned good nack for making these things work visually and he can probably make the world of drakengard look damned good.

Reason it would never be made: Well, lets try the fact that the game itself is so dark that not even Tim burton would touch it with a ten foot pole, and that it contains quite a few Taboo themes involved (Eg. Incest) and you have the reason it would never see life on the silver screen...at all.

What about you, what would you choose?

All I want to do is make a post-apocalyptic road movie that features an insane car chase in '70s cars set to the music of Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix. It'd be better than Deathproof, that's for sure.

The only stuff I can think of right now is stuff I've written myself. So I guess my answer would be my three movies and my anime series, haha.

Anime: "Abyssal" A hyperviolent medieval fantasy about four demi-god angel sisters defending a paradise from the unspeakable horrors of the outer badlands.

Movie 1: "Dragonhands" A dark comedy about a fearsome supervillain who has no noble hero to stop him. He could destroy everything, but then what would there be left for him to rule?

Movie 2: "Living Dead Girl" An over-the-top sci-fi ballet of bullets about a warrior woman from a different dimension hiding on Earth from her kind after betraying them.

Movie 3: "Wish Upon" A look at the disturbing and grim reality of human nature. A living Angel appears on Earth, the single greatest event in human history. Her presence ignites a petty tug-of-war between those who worship her as a divine prophet, and those who see her as an evil abomination, with the caring family that has taken her in stuck in the middle.

A post-apocalyptic action movie that's NOT set in an American metropolis or some generic wasteland.
I think continental Europe would work fantastically. Imagine Prague, Strassburg or Vienna as a backdrop. Gothic church towers dominating the background of every shot, violent shooutouts in the shadows of the remains of Roman statues that once marked the same point as a peak of culture and fine arts... I wouldn't even care that much about the plot, I just want to see those visuals on a big screen.

A Girl and Her Dog. It's the semi-planned sequel to A Boy and His Dog. The director has said that he would like to make it, but funding is an issue. The movie hasn't gotten off the ground for 35+ years so I don't think it ever will be made.

There was a science fiction radio serial broadcast in the mid-90's called Earthsearch and it was awesome. The basic premise is
that three starships, all named Challenger (I - III) were launched from Earth to go and find a suitable home for the burgeoning human populace. The Challenger II unfortunately encounters a meteor strike whilst their shields are down for routine maintenance and the crew are all killed - save four children. These then grow up to command the ship under the guardianship of the Challenger II's ANGEL computers (ANcilliary Guardians of Environment and Life) who, due to their hyper intelligence, have worked out that when the Challenger II returns to Earth a significant amount of time will have passed due to the ship's faster-than-light drive, and the human race will be in shambles. The ANGELs plan to become the 'gods' of the now-crippled human race.

But when they return to the Solar System, they find the Earth has mysteriously disappeared and three million years have passed instead of the 30,000 they predicted. The rest of the serial follows the four crew members - Darv, Astra, Telsen and Sharna - realising the ANGEL's true nature as they peruse the Earth through space, having been told by a despotic computer on the Moon Base that the now hyper-intelligent humans worked out a way to move the planet to its new Solar System. It's honestly a lot less batshit than I make it sound.
There's also a sequel, Earthsearch II, which is even more epic. They would both make amazing, well-paced films under the right director.

Also Philip Reeve's "Mortal Engines" book series. Yes. (Although one of the main female characters, Hester, is indescribably ugly in the books. I doubt Hollywood would translate her that way.)

The Halo movie Peter freakin' Jackson would've made. Alas... And all that already available live-action material shows it having so much potential. Buuuut nooooo... And no it wouldn't be about Master Chief, that'd make a crappy movie. A deep film about the marines themselves, that's what I want. How they cope with living in the shadow of the Chief, how they feel about getting their asses kicked by ridiculous looking aliens, a story about betrayal, loyalty and purpose. Yeah, I'd dig it.

And with less really cute chicks dying horribly. I know I know it's shallow and ridiculous, but that's the sole reason I can't stand the sight of Deathproof. I just...don't want to see a pretty leg being cut off and bouncing on the street. It's just so...wrong.

First and foremost, the only film I'm truly interest in seeing made is Touhou, or more specifically one for each of the games. The dialogue would need to be significantly expanded upon, however the sheer number of interesting characters available, the potentially gorgeous locations, and the incredible originality of depicting three dimensional danmaku combat contain the potential for some quality entertainment. It would mostly be made entirely by fans of the series, as not only are there some truly phenomenal writers that have done equally phenomenal things with the denizens of Gensoukyou, but professional-quality animators that had the same idea as me long ago and created what can only be described as masterpieces:

Unfortunately, it seems ZUN doesn't want anything official done, and without his support it is unlikely anything solid will be created. I am a sad panda.

Secondly, a Warhammer 40,000 film would not be unwelcome. The coming Ultramarines film is just that, a film about the Ultramarines, and a proper 40K film should include every major player in the galaxy. Personally I think it should be divided into separate, self-contained short stories told from the perspective of different sides, overall including the six main factions in one form or another. I also think it should be made mainly by Relic, as they have done marvelous things with the setting that will translate well to the medium.

Ultimately however these are merely fantasies, and actually expecting them to be made is a good way to make myself even more depressed than I already am.

Thing is, i'd....actually prefer to see Tohou made into an anime series if anything: There's just WAY to much stuff to try to fit it all into one movie, and a series would be the best way to expand upon it all and offer something to the fans at the same time. Not saying it's a bad idea to suggest it as a movie, but i just think it's better suited to being an anime series.

The idea of a warhammer 40K movie though? Ok, i'm down with that

Agreed.

Imperium: A Warhammer 40K Movie.

The elite warriors of the Imperial Guard are sent to a Hive world to restore order and crush a rebellion. They arrive, however, to a world in complete revolt. Out numbered and out gunned, they must fight against heretics and stop the worst from happening: the birth of a Daemon Planet.

EDIT: I actually have the entire thing worked out in my head. And a bitching trailer too!
