Starship Troopers is as close as you will ever get to a Starcraft movie.ApophisMP said:A Starcraft Movie........ A real one not Starship Troopers
I want that purely because it would easily become the worst film ever made. They'd also need to keep every little inconsistency, and have the characters speak like its written, non of this actual English crap.smearyllama said:My Immortal: The Movie
No, see, what I was suggesting was a separate film made for each game; one for The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, one for Perfect Cherry Blossom, and so on and so forth (exclusing the PC-9800 games, of course, because even if ZUN authorises any films it is bordering on impossible that he will acknowledge them ever again). Though as I said the dialogue would need to be greatly expanded and probably a bit of padding added as well, mostly to explain some of the backstory of the plot and the characters involved, I could easily see each of them filling a full length film.Infernai said:Thing is, i'd....actually prefer to see Tohou made into an anime series if anything: There's just WAY to much stuff to try to fit it all into one movie, and a series would be the best way to expand upon it all and offer something to the fans at the same time. Not saying it's a bad idea to suggest it as a movie, but i just think it's better suited to being an anime series.
I'll call Peter Jackson! You get Plastic Wax!AccursedTheory said:Agreed.Extraintrovert said:Secondly, a Warhammer 40,000 film would not be unwelcome. The coming Ultramarines film is just that, a film about the Ultramarines, and a proper 40K film should include every major player in the galaxy. Personally I think it should be divided into separate, self-contained short stories told from the perspective of different sides, overall including the six main factions in one form or another. I also think it should be made mainly by Relic, as they have done marvelous things with the setting that will translate well to the medium.
Imperium: A Warhammer 40K Movie.
The elite warriors of the Imperial Guard are sent to a Hive world to restore order and crush a rebellion. They arrive, however, to a world in complete revolt. Out numbered and out gunned, they must fight against heretics and stop the worst from happening: the birth of a Daemon Planet.
EDIT: I actually have the entire thing worked out in my head. And a bitching trailer too!
I thought Peter Jackson did an amazing job with The Lord of The Rings trilogy.benzooka said:A movie that doesn't suck completely and distort and lighten and brighten the story to almost unrecognizable dimensions: The Golden Compass, and the rest of the His Dark Materials -trilogy.
Also a Hobbit movie (or 2 or 3 movies of it), that would be directed by someone like Guillermo Del Toro instead of Peter bloody Jackson.
Any action movie with fight scenes as cool and shots at least as long as in 300. You shouldn't need to see those second lone shots mashed together with a shaky confusing view of the battle.
The Golden Compass wasn't that bad for a PG movie. They never would've been able to continue the story past it in any way that could be honestly called "adaptation" without upping to PG-13, which they wouldn't do because of the $$$. I really would've liked to have seen them do the whole series with that cast and such, but a PG-13 rating. Of course the American Catholic League would probably stroke out from the anger induced hypertension.benzooka said:A movie that doesn't suck completely and distort and lighten and brighten the story to almost unrecognizable dimensions: The Golden Compass, and the rest of the His Dark Materials -trilogy.
Actually, the author of the Trainspotting book says that Ewan McGregor and Danny Boyle have talked to him about adapting the literary sequel Porno, so that one may actually come out..No. said:A new Brave New World film, and the sequel to trainspotting. And the rest of the books written by Irvine Welsh. And Fallout.
I thought that Ewan McGregor had some type of fallout with Boyle, over Leonardo DiCaprio being picked over him for The Beach. I recall Boyle saying it might be made, just that it would take a while for the actors to look old enough.Magic Muffin Man said:Actually, the author of the Trainspotting book says that Ewan McGregor and Danny Boyle have talked to him about adapting the literary sequel Porno, so that one may actually come out..No. said:A new Brave New World film, and the sequel to trainspotting. 0o That is both the dumbest and most awesome crossover idea i have ever heard..smearyllama said:A film based on my soon to be realized MGS/ Harry Potter crossover fanfic.
I was under the impression that Ewan got over that, but I might be wrong...besides, didn't the Beach suck? I'd certainly count my losses if I were in his position..No. said:I thought that Ewan McGregor had some type of fallout with Boyle, over Leonardo DiCaprio being picked over him for The Beach.
