The Amber Spyglass. I cried like a ***** at the end and almost prayed that there was an alternate ending but I know that it was the best ending, even if it wasn't the one I wanted
Goddamn it that ending was fantastic, I cried for a day after that. My favourite series of books by far.

ON TOPIC: I remember the idiotic visual pun of having a literal cliff hanger at the end of the old Italian Job really annoying me, it just undermined the whole film for me a little bit, was disappointing.

This is how Seven should of ended.
Sorry but I dislike the proper gut wrenching ending even thought it make sense.
Se7en had a perfect ending. Gwyneth Paltrow dying, Im sorry but any movie were Gwyneth Paltrow remains alive the entire time is not worth my time. Therefore se7ven was a great movie with a great ending.

Good movie = Killing Gwyneth Paltrow off

What's up with all the people who can't handle an ambiguous ending? That was one of the best things about Inception.

Mine is Aliens. Ripley should have been sucked out of the airlock with the queen. Here are my reasons:

1. What happens in the movie is that several tons of metal plus several tons of alien plus several tons of wind force are all being resisted by Sigourney Weaver's forearm. Her arm would've been ripped off instantly and yet she CLIMBS out with the wind still blowing and not so much as a dislocated joint.

2. There is absolutely no way that airlock would have a switch to open both doors at once.

3. She'd already done the sole-survivor thing, it was Newt's turn. Makes perfect sense for her to sacrifice herself to save Newt. Practically writes itself.

4. It was a miracle that Aliens was as good as it was. For a sequel to be almost as good as the original, expand on it and change things without ruining everything is rare as hell. Give Ripley her damn closure already. We would've been spared the two awful sequels (maybe).

I would change the ending of Knowing and make it so there are no aliens trying to recreate Noah's ark and make it so everyone just dies in a huge solar flare or whatever it was.

Splice, oh my god Splice.

The creature should of died instead of turning sexes, and raping he/she's mother.

If the ending was different, that film could of gone down in history.
What would have made the ending better is if we all didnt see what was coming with the ending....god let down

At the end of Twhylight :new moon, Samuel L. Blackson pops up as Van Helsing and starts killing werewolves with a gatling gun of silver and a crossbow cannon.

The Departed. They should have kept that rat off set.

I always wondered how Watchmen would have done in the Box Office, had they used the original ending from the graphic novel. People would probably have hated it. But it would still be damn hilarious to see in real-time 3D.
I imagine they changed the ending just so they didn't have to dedicate any scene to setting it up, which considering the film is 2 and a half hours long, (3 hour Directors Cut) is forgivable in my opinion. Especially when the new ending delivers the same dilemma and outcome, just in a much more contained film.
Huh? You mean Marky shooting Damon? I watch that over and over, god i hate Matt Damon.

Collateral
Freaking anything other than the professional hitman getting killed in a head-on shootout with a taxi driver.

No the rat on the balcony, its the most and least tactful metaphor in a film.

Wall-e I wanted it to just end a little earlier, like when he had died and they changed his parts and he became a standard robot, with no memory. It was awesome and was a beautiful sacrifice for the whole of mankind and it's future on earth.

Instead disney bring his memories back with 0 explanation and all the kids in the cinema stop crying.

when I have kids they will never see the last 2 mins of the movie pre credits, i'll just turn it off and tell them to go play outside.

The Day the Earth Stood Still. The most recent one. I wanted it to, you know, have an ending.

Part of me wanted for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World to end with the deleted ending instead of the final one.
I still don't get how Edgar Wright thought that was a possible ending, the books never even meander that way.

Mine would be Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland. I was expecting a comment upon the cyclic nature of myth and stories, and how they are told and retold. I was expecting the White Queen to revealed to be as bad as the Red, but prettier and that the whole Frabjous Day destruction event occured EVERY Frabjous Day as the queens essentially swapped the kingdom between them every year. And every year a new Jabberwocky is born and a new "Alice" arrives from the human realm.

Alice would have talked the Jabberwocky round during their duel, given a big middle finger to the prophecy, and the 2 would have led the characters trapped between the 2 armies (Hatter etc) against the 2 Queens and their armies.

And then the Hatter would NOT dance like a retard.
Wow, that almost sounds awesome. You forgot the part where he doesn't pull a -bleep-ing broadsword of his hat like he's Harry Fricken Potter. Or the part where Lewis Carroll gets out of his grave and tears the rest of the film away from the reel, making a point about how the audience's preconcieved notion of Wonderland had led them astray into a movie they were not expecting nor would have wanted to see.

It should've ended with David falling into the ocean and dying. None of this advanced machine future bullcrap. And the whole happy ending with his clone mom... Blegh!
Damn right, him in the ocean alone forever while the decades passed in the background of the credits.... Then I wouldn't feel so bad recommending it to someone

Of Mice and Men. Adored the book. The movie was spoiled by the ending.
George shooting Lennie should have been so much more dramatic. In my imagination, he would be tearing up or preparing the revolver with shaking hands behind Lenny. In the movie, he just decided to act the part of "fastest gun in the west" like they had never been friends.

The Hollywood ending of Watchmen totally ruined it for me.

Also, the entire third Matrix movie should have been different, ie, not sucked. If it had only been a matrix within the matrix (or something, there's articles dedicated to this) it would have lived on forever as an awesome trilogy with a weak middle movie. But no, it is remembered as having a good first movie. Had there been a sick reveal in part 3 like there was in part 1... magic.
Th Hollywood ending made much more sense even if it took out the cool alien factor. By putting the blame on Manhattan he was giving the people a real reason to be scared and dealing with Dr.Manhattan at the same time.
